Jimmy Walker
Many of us that have grown up in the '80s sometimes find ourselves humming a jingle that our kids or younger siblings have no clue about. There is no single reason why, after 20 years, at least once per year, we find ourselves stuck for several hours at a time reminiscing on a tune from, what it seems, ages ago. If this is the case for you, this article is not going to make things any easier. If you don't have at least two days to spare having your brain totally clogged with repetitive, merciless singing, then read no further. For all of you brave retro junkies, listed are five, hard-to-forget '80s, jingle-themed commercials that you will soon not forget. Click on the titles to see the commercials. Enjoy.

#5 Toys-R-Us Kid

This Toys-R-Us commercial, along with others, ran throughout the 80s. The most memorable part of these commercials were the ventriloquist man (at :20). He was funny, but he was not a very good ventriloquist.

#4 Juicy Fruit

This jingle ran throughout the 80s. The most memorable part of this commercial was the country music theme and how happy and outgoing the attractive young actors became when they had a stick of Juicy Fruit in their mouths.

#3 My Buddy

The My Buddy commercials of the 80s, with the Kid Sister of the early 90s were very well-known jingles at the time. Seeing this commercial makes me realize how much things have changed over 20+ years. Then, little boys openly ran around the neighborhood with their dolls. Be it dressed like a firefighter or construction worker, I don't think that will cut it today. That was the most memorable part of the commercial.

#2 Big Red and Doublemint Gum

These Big Red and Doublemint Gum commercials originally aired during the late 1980s. The most memorable part about these commercials was they ran back to back. The Big Red commercial always preceded the Doublemint Gum commercial.

#1 Nestlé Alpine White with Almonds

Originally aired during the mid to late 80s, one of my personal favorites, Nestle's Alpine White N-E-S-T-L-E-S is the #1 most addicting 80s jingle. For most people, the most memorable line in this commercial is: "Sweet Dreams, You Can't Resist". The song was performed by Faith No More.
