We all do this every year. Making resolutions. A New Year, means new choices and a fresh start. So why not think of your health as a priority when choosing your resolutions? As a mother, my choices for myself are usually not first. My health probably suffers the most. I drink coffee, skip meals, and put off exercise. These are just a few of the mistakes I plan to change in 2012!
Eating Right. My biggest issue is skipping meals. Breakfast is probably the meal skipped the most. Which it has always been said to be the most important meal of the day. Why do I skip? I go for the second to third cup of coffee instead. Best choice? No probably not. So this New Year I plan to cut back the coffee intake and make it priority to eat a healthy, wholesome breakfast. Making time to eat right, will definitely boost my health. Giving me more energy, a healthier appearance, and all around a healthier me.
Exercise More. I always put my exercising last on my list, so it never gets done. This coming year I plan to make exercising goal of mine. I am not going start to extreme exercise, then I know I wont get it done. I will start working myself to a steady workout plan. Setting aside an extra 30 minutes or so a day and sticking with it. This is one of my top goals for 2012. Exercising will help me to feel better about myself, give me more energy, and make me healthier.
Enjoying the Outdoors. I feel a big thing I miss out on is getting more time to enjoy outdoors. I love the outdoors, yet manage to never find enough time to be out there! I feel this next year, a resolution I have, is to choose more hobbies outdoors. Go camping more often, garden more, walk the dogs, etc. Being outdoors always takes stress away from me, refreshes me, and it is just so beautiful. I feel it will a great health choice.
Visit Friends and Family more. A computer sitting right in front of me, not always a good thing. If you are like me, that's the way I keep in touch with my family and friends the most nowadays. The New Year will be different. My goal is to visit and call my family and friends more. No technology like cell phones and computers. Making time for family is important and it is never to soon to realize this. I feel I have actually missed more , then keeping in touch! We need interaction with others, so this is always good for my health, socially and even physically.
Find New Hobbies. I feel I have let the same hobbies, though I enjoy them, get dull. I feel that mentally, changing up or adding to existing hobbies, is a great way to expand our minds. So this coming New Year I will be making it a goal to add new hobbies to my everyday life. I am thinking of maybe some college courses, change up some choices in my reading selection, or join a club, such as a book club! This will help my health physically, mentally, and emotionally. Also, I am looking forward to the new people I will meet!
So, what are your New Years Resolutions? Don't forget to consider your health in your resolutions. Never too soon to start thinking about you and your health!
