1. Nicki Minaj: With the solid backing of the cash money umbrella be sure to keep an eye out for lyrical bombshell.
2. Young La: Keep an eye out for this kid. He debuted with the single "Aint I" in which he and T.I. Created a classic southern anthem. Young La is on track for a big year.
3. Ace Hood: This kid is not really new but he has tons of potential and has been burning up the mix tape scene for about two years. "Cash Flow" is a classic already.
4. Tyga: This young money representer has many connections within the music industry (He is the cousin of Travis McCoy from Gym Class Heroes). He has a distinct flow and could make some noise next year.
5. Drake: Lastly and perhaps the most talented new artist in the game today. I wondered such well respected artist such as Jay Z and Mary J Bliege were praising this guy as far back as a year ago, but now I see. Drake is a triple threat. He can sing, he can rap and he writes his own content. Oh and by the way he's not a gangsta rapper; he's from the suburbs of Canada. Drake is special because he doesn't fit the traditional mold of today's rapper. He doesn't have any gunshot wounds, no felonies, and at least as of today no baby mommas. Keep an eye out for this kid, together with Lil Wayne his potential is limitless.
