Top 5 Hotel Shops in Las Vegas for Great Shopping

Kathy Holmes
Some of the best shopping in the world is located in Las Vegas, from ultra elite shops in a hotel casino or in some the most upscale, expensive shopping malls. There are outlet stores and upscale outlet stores and even "normal" shopping malls such as Town Square.

But for the most entertaining, upscale, expensive, out-of-this-world shopping, you can do no wrong at any of these "5 Hotel Shops" in Las Vegas. No wrong, unless you call topping out your credit card wrong.

Forum Shops in Caesar's Palace - This is a full-scale mall that you will need hours to explore, but you can't go to Las Vegas without visiting it at least once, if not on every trip. With fine restaurants to boot, you may also want to book a lunch or dinner here, although it is less crowded when it first opens. Be aware of prices before purchasing anything and especially something as seemingly harmless as Gelato. On a recent trip, we spent $25 on Gelato for two. You don't want to be taken unaware.

The Grand Canal Shoppes in the Venetian - What makes shopping here so special, besides having a fabulous list of upscale stores and celebrity chef restaurants, are the Gondola rides-either inside the mall or outside. Inside you have the feeling that you're at Disney World, with the strolling performers, known as "streetmosphere," and the painted fresco overhead. The spacious walkways, twisting and turning, lead you to adventures as exciting as an amusement park. Shopping or strolling, you must visit the Grand Canal Shoppes.

Via Bellagio - The shops in Bellagio are quite high-end, and you could spend your whole paycheck within an hour. Whether you are there to make purchases or window shop, it is well worth the visit. Georgia Armani, Chanel, Dior, Gucci, Prada, Tiffany and many more luxury stores display merchandise that you will not see in the average mall. You may be able to find lower end merchandise for that souvenir you're dying to bring back home.

Similar to Bellagio, Wynn Las Vegas has some of the most astounding shopping in a hotel casino. With names like Oscar de la Renta and Manolo Blahnik, darling, you'll surely find a fabulous place to spend your winnings. Begin your browsing online by checking out the shopkeepers' introductions. Steve Wynn wanted to offer the best of the best when he built Bellagio and he has succeeded at the Wynn.

If you're fainting at the thought of even browsing at any of these upscale shops, you may want to check out Miracle Mile Shops in Planet Hollywood. This was once Desert Passage before the Aladdin became Planet Hollywood. While both the resort and casino and shopping areas have been remodeled, you can still see signs from the previous identity. But more affordable shops for the average person abound here and after gasping over prices in the upscale shops, it's a relief to finally find a place on the Strip where you can actually do some buying and not just window-shopping. Other highlights of this shopping mall include some tasty and interesting restaurants such as Hawaiian Tropic, Trader Vic's, and Earl of Sandwich, also located at Walt Disney World.
