Top 5 Ice Road Truckers Episodes from Season 2

My husband, being a trucker himself, loves this show and I have to admit I like too. It's a reality show about eight truckers that haul goods across the perilous icy roads through the Northwest Territories of Canada. There is of course the human relationship drama, but the intense anxiety and danger these truckers and their family must face is incredible. Hundred Ton Haul

In this episode Bear, a veteran ice road trucker, and Alex, new to ice road hauling, have to haul an 80 ton structure split between them across the hazardous ice roads making it one of the heaviest loads to cross over the ice this season. On top of the pressure with this haul size and the risks at hauling it Alex is battling his continuing health issues.

Man Down

On top of the danger these truckers face of the ice roads breaking, in this episode polar bears are sighted out on the ice in the haulers area. This present a new danger to Bear and Eric as they haul the boiler and the flare stack that they have been assigned to take to Langley. Mean while Rick threats to quit over a five day long work assignment and his building frustrations and Alex gets a medevac to the hospital in Yellowknife due to his health problems.

Lost On the Ice

Alex has to haul to Aput, an unfamiliar area and misses his turn. He finds himself lost in unknown location. Rick is still contemplating quitting and asks Hugh for advice in the matter. Jerry attempts to transport the MGM camp, for the second time, using the two trucking practice. This is a risky way transport simultaneously loaded cargo on two trucks.

Mechanical Mayhem

Trying to meet deadlines due to mechanical failures in the shop, Hugh attempts to uses a four year dormant truck that's sitting in the arctic cold. Rick's truck gets damaged and cannot be repaired and Alex is affected by the aftermath he witnesses of an ice road accident. Drew finds a trucking related job in town with a lot less demands.

The Big Blizzard

A blizzard is report which shuts down all roads leaving a stranded trucker. Davey get's called out to rescue the trucker stuck in the blizzard that has run off course and is sitting on the most fragile area of the ice. Drew rides shot gun the whole way when he gets sick while out on the haul. Kelly, who is paired with Drew, is not impressed with him while out on Drew's first hauling assignment. Rick waits while his truck is getting fixed stressing the whole time over work and losing money.
