Do you ever find yourself watching a movie and having a craving to be in that special adventure, where you are the main character? Well, if you do then you're not alone! If not, then maybe you haven't watched the right movies. Most of us don't solve mysteries for a living or go out on a limb for adventure, but movies help take us away from our humdrum lives and into the fantasy world. Well, who says it needs to be a fantasy? Most of us can get away for at least a week or two, right?

Here is a list of the top 5 movies that will inspire you to pack up your bags and be on your way!

1. The Bucket List- A comedy-drama that makes you want to live like you are dying... In this film two strangers become friends when they find out they have been diagnosed with terminal cancer. They pursue a list of things to do before they die such as traveling to the Pyramids of Egypt, going on an African safari, visiting Hong Kong, and the Himalayas. This movie inspired me to live life to the fullest and appreciate the beauty this world has to offer.

Director: Rob Reiner, Writer: Justin Zackham, Producer: Craig Zadan, Actors: Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson.

2. Indiana Jones - Where adventure, adrenaline and mystery are all part of the job, you will find what you are searching for watching any Indiana Jones movies. Whether the setting is the Amazon, Venice, Cairo, or India, these heart-thumping films will keep you on the edge of your seat all the way to your destination. Out of the franchise I will reference the The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull as this is the most recent Indiana Jones movies. After watching this movie I decided that Peru and its surrounding areas are a must see on my list to visit the Aztec and Mayan ruins and wonder if I will be the next to uncover the crystal skull.

Director: Steven Spielberg, Writer: George Lucas, Jeff Nathanson Producer: Frank Marshal, George Lucas, Kathleen Kennedy Actors: Harrison Ford, Cate Blanchett, Karen Allen, Shia LaBeouf, Ray Winstone, John Hurt, Jim Broadbent and Igor Jijikine

3. National Treasure - If you're of the faint-of-heart, but still enjoy mystery and travel this is a great choice to get you moving. Check out these cities rich in history such as Philadelphia to see the Liberty Bell, Boston where Paul Revere did his ride, and Wall Street in New York. Growing up in New Hampshire and living in New York City, I have been to two out of the three from the list above and I now would find it very interesting to study the Liberty Bell after having watched this movie.

Director: Jon Turteltaub, Writers: Jim Kouf, Ted Elliot, Terry Rossio, Cormac Wibberley, and Marianne Wibberly, Producer: Jerry Bruckheimer, Actors: Nicolas Cage, Justin Bartha, Diane Krueger, Sean Bean, Jon Voight, Harvey Keitel, and Christopher Plummer.

4. Davinci Code - A movie mystery sure to make you want to visit France searching for "The Holy Grail". In fact I did go to France and could not resist a visit to the Louvre Musee, in Paris to see the infamous original Mona Lisa painting and the Museum itself. I am not sure I would have been as interested in visiting this place had it not been for the movie that left me asking more questions then ever before, but I am glad I did. Searching for clues is a much more difficult task in person than it looks like in the movie. I still could not find the place that was shown at the end of the movie when Tom Hanks was looking down through the glass pyramid concealed in mystery.

Director/Producer: Ron Howard, Writer: Dan Brown, Actors: Tom Hanks, Audrey Tautou, and Ian McKellen.

5. Nim's Island - If it is adventure in the South Pacific you're searching for, you found it here. This movie depicts living free, being content, and maintaining innocence... while encouraging one to step out of their comfort zone. This film illustrates my "fantasy Island" and fantasy life-style. Watching this movie made me feel happy and exhilarated as if I just had a vacation.

Director: Jennifer Flackett, and Mark Levin, Writer: Wendy Orr, Producer: Cary Granat, and Paula Mazur, Actors: Abigail Breslin, Jodie Foster, and Gerland Butler.

Now that you have learned about the top 5 movies that will inspire you to travel, grab some popcorn, get ready to book your next destination and have fun.
