First, I would take a companion. And since, for the purpose of this article, people don't count, I am choosing my cat. I mean, if you're going to be stuck on an island by yourself for a year, why not take, a loveable, cuddly cat to keep you company? If you don't have a cat, you might want to think about taking your dog, but if you don't have a cat or a dog, you might want to consider adopting one of these lovable critters from your nearest Humane Society because you're really going to want one after a few days alone on that island.
Secondly, I would take an MP3 player loaded with all of my favorite songs (may I suggest Taylor Swift?) and lots of extra batteries. I say choose the MP3 player over the Ipod because all the Ipods I know of require charging, which you don't really have access to on a deserted island, but not ever having owned an Ipod, I'm not really an expert in that department, so I may be wrong.
Next, I would want lots of different types of clothing. If it were really hot, I would want appropriate clothing, including footwear, same if it were pouring rain, or freezing cold.
I would also want to take over-the-counter medicine, in case of headache or upset stomach.
Lastly, I would want a digital camera with extra memory cards and extra batteries. Almost any deserted island is certain to be exquisite, or at least unique and I would definitely want pictures. I also know that my friends and family would want lots, and lots, and lots of photos.
So, if you're ever traveling to a deserted island. Consider taking some of the things on this list, they could end up serving you very well.
