Top 5 Must-Have Indoor Christmas Decorations

V. L. Hamlin
Decorating for Christmas has been a tradition since around the 16th century. People all over the world decorate their homes in bright, shiny colored lights and decorative bows of evergreen. In fact, many towns and cities around the world have contests in which they often offer cash prizes to the most decorated house.

Unfortunately it seems as if everyone is in such competition with "The Joneses" for the best outdoor decorations that they often skimp on the inside of their home! Why would you do that, when that is where you spend most of your time?! Don't you decorate for the feel of Christmas? Spend more time inside near a cozy fire, decorating the space you spend the most time in. Don't waste time and energy lighting up the house like Clark Griswold, it's just not worth it...besides, it just runs up the electric bill anyway!

Below I have listed five of the absolute must have Christmas decorations for inside!

# 1 ~ Welcome

You should always have some sort of holiday welcome on your front door or near your front door. Setting an adorable Fabric Santa or Snowman Family near the front door to welcome your guests is a great way to show your holiday spirit! Another great way to welcome family and friends into your home is to hang a welcome sign where it is highly visible to those knocking on your door.

# 2 ~ A Village

No holiday decorated home is complete without a cozy Christmas Village! Set up a table specifically for your village. Place white cotton batting on the table then "build" your village as you wish.

# 3 ~ Nativity Set

Without Jesus, we wouldn't be celebrating Christmas. Honor the birth of Jesus by displaying a beautiful nativity set each year!

# 4 ~ Musical Stuffed Animals

Keep a cute plush snowman, Santa or bear in each room, be sure to choose one that plays a holiday song. When you are having a bad day, pick it up and squeeze. It's a sure way to get into the holiday spirit fast!

# 5 ~ Christmas Tree

Get a real Christmas tree! Don't waste your money on a fake one, it's simply not Christmas without the smell of pine in the air. Be sure to decorate it with fancy ornaments that glitter and shine against the sparkling lights!
