Top 5 Nashville Restaurants for Prom Night 2010

Kristina Conyer
If you choose to dine out before the prom, you will want two things in a restaurant, atmosphere and elegance. Nashville has an outstanding selection of restaurants that offer fine dining. When prom night comes around and you are looking for the perfect romantic dining experience, give one of these local favorites a try and you won't be disappointed.

Cheesecake Factory
Location: 2133 Green Hills Village Drive, Nashville, TN
Website: www.thecheesecakefactory.com

The whimsical, grand palace feel of the Cheesecake Factory's interior will have you on your way to a night to remember and provides a great backdrop for some awesome prom night pictures. Their wide array of menu selections will appeal to anyone. Try the delicious Pasta da Vinci for $15.50 which has an amazing Madeira wine sauce, sauteed chicken and mushrooms that melt in your mouth. You can't leave the Cheesecake Factory without dessert, no matter how full you are, so try one of my favorites Lemoncello Cream Torte $6.95.

Amerigo Restaurant
Location: 1920 West End Ave, Nashville, TN
Website: www.amerigo.net

Amerigo offers a romantic, candlelight atmosphere that your date will love. If you choose to dine at Amerigo, you absolutely must have the rich and delicious Oven Roasted Artichoke Dip ($9.50) as your appetizer, it is by far the best I have ever had.

My favorite pasta is the scrumptious Chicken Margarite with the homemade Scallion Cream Sauce for $11.50.

Melting Pot Restaurant
Location: 166 2nd Ave N #A, Nashville, TN
Website: www.meltingpot.com

Melting Pot is an event to be remembered, it is an experience. Make sure you allow plenty of time for dinner here, especially if you will be ordering the 'Big Night Out'. I recommend the Traditional Swiss Cheese Fondue for two, $16, but if you are in the mood to splurge, you can get a taste of everything they have to offer with the "Big Night Out" for $82 and up, which includes four delicious courses.

P.F. Chang's China Bistro
Location: 2525 West End Avenue, Nashville, TN
Website: www.pfchangs.com

For some Asian style cuisine in an upscale dining atmosphere, P.F. Chang's is a good choice. A great appetizer to try is the Chang's Chicken Lettuce Wraps for $6.95. The Orange Peel Chicken is a tasty entree that's not too messy to eat in your formal clothes and not too spicy, give it a try for $12.95.

Stock-Yard Steakhouse
Location: 901 2nd Ave N, Nashville, TN
Website: http://stock-yardrestaurant.com

If you or your date are a steak lover, and you're ready to pay a little more, treat yourself to the Stock-Yard for a memorable experience. You can indulge in their 12 oz. Prime Rib for $29.95, or maybe the 7oz. Filet for $33.95. Remember, their dinners are priced a la carte, so this price only includes the steak, and extras like salad or baked potato will be an additional charge.

Regardless of which restaurant you choose, you will need to call at least two weeks in advance for reservations, you don't want to be left waiting in the lobby, you have a prom to attend! For a more intimate experience at whatever restaurant you are going to, ask for a booth when you are making your reservations. One last thing to remember, either both or neither of you must eat garlic at dinner because you will be slow dancing later!
