Top 5 Natural Ways to Control Acne

If you have acne you might be at your wit's end. Sometimes it can be very hard to get it under control, especially if you're just relying on your acne medication. However, in order to truly get the condition under control, it is best to take a holistic approach. What follows are five ways to control acne the natural way.

1. Drink Plenty of Water

This is a fairly easy one to accomplish. All you need to do is make sure to drink 8-10 glasses of pure, clean water. This helps flush out waste from your body and helps your skin to glow! To spice it up and relieve boredom, try floating a few lemon, orange, or lime slices in the glass.

2. Eat a Healthy Diet

We all know that there are some myths associated with acne. No, chocolate and greasy foods don't necessarily cause your skin problems. However, eating a poor diet definitely doesn't help. Eating the right foods gives your body what it needs to help allow the skin to heal.

3. Take a Multi Vitamin and Mineral

Ask your doctor for advice on the best one to take. A good multi vitamin and mineral supplement is another one of those things that help enhance your overall state of health. Your skin has extra vitamin needs, too, and it is hard to get everything you need from food no matter how healthy you are.

4. Try Jojoba and Tea Tree Oil

One natural remedy that can really help heal your acne is to mix a few drops of tea tree oil into ½ cup of jojoba oil and spread on your skin. Jojoba is actually a wax that is in liquid form so is safe for acne skin. In fact, some people report good results when using it. Tea tree oil is an essential oil that is also a classic remedy for acne. If you don't like tea tree oil, substitute it for lavender essential oil.

5. Apple Cider Vinegar as an Acne Remedy

Apple cider vinegar is another one of those simple remedies that couldn't hurt. Cleanse your skin as usual. Put a drop or two of apple cider vinegar on a cotton ball and wet ball with water. Spread all over face. Follow up with your jojoba and tea tree oil mixture. Do this twice a day.

You may want to check with your dermatologist to see if these ideas are safe for you to implement. If you want your acne to improve as quickly as possible, a dermatologist can be a great ally.
