Top 5 Nokia E61 Websites

Henry Lamb
Nokia is one of the leaders in the mobile phone industry. So it comes to now surprise why many Nokia fans come up with their own blogs and websites dedicated to their favorite model phones. When Nokia first released their E-series line (their business-phone products), it was the Nokia E61 that would prove to be the winning choice.

The Nokia E61 has attracted the creation of more than 17 English-language blogs and websites, dedicated to featuring what it can do and what software is available for it. There are also foreign-language websites that feature the phone and how popular it is in the business world. Of all the sites, here is a list of 5 of the most informative.

E-series.org (http://www.e-series.org)

This site gives information about all E-series devices but a majority of the information provided is on the Nokia E61. It's update on a daily basis and pulls news from many other sites. This news includes updates on software on the Nokia E61, the latest developments on previously and recently released E-series devices, and tips and tricks on the Nokia E61. Users can drop off comments about any of the posted topics and every Friday, users are given a treat as they can download the latest themes for the Nokia E61. The site also features many pictures of the Nokia E61 in action and shows the sites administrators' loyalty to the Nokia E61 and products in the same line.

Tommi's S60 Applications blog (http://blogs.s60.com/tommi/)

This blog is actually dedicated more to S60 products and software than it is to just products from the E-series line. However, the E-series are a part of Nokia's S60 range of devices which is becoming more popular to many Nokia users. The site reviews many of Nokia's newer products (from N-series devices to E-series devices) and it also holds polls on different Nokia issues. There is a wide range of topics that includes discussions about services that are available on particular Nokia devices and also tips on things that can be done on S60 phones. Like most other blogs, users are encouraged to register and drop their own comments about the posted entries.

Le blog du Nokia E61 (http://www.e61fr.com)

Although this site is in French, it summarizes a lot of information good for Nokia E61 users in Europe. There are polls for Nokia E61 issues (for example, how the model fares against other products that share its features) and comments may be left for the topics that are posted. However, responses may be slow if comments are posted in English, which is highly understandable. The whole site can be translated to English or German, a Google feature that is available on the site. All a user has to do is click the appropriate flag and the whole site will be translated to the language chosen. At best, the translations are choppy but otherwise understandable.

SymbianV3.com (http://www.symbianv3.com/)

This site is a little different from the previously mentioned ones. Dedicated more to S60 software, this blog features many applications (commercial distributed and freeware) that are available for a number of N-series and E-series devices. Lately, however, with the recent announcement of the new E-series devices for 2007, the blog has begun to feature a few photos and specifications for the new Nokia E61i, and the Nokia E90.

Tech[dot]Blog (http://www.thinkabdul.com)

This site provides information for a number of devices and not only Nokia. There is information on Mac-based products, Windows-based products, Symbian-based products (such as the Nokia), and also reviews on specific software that the blogger recommends others to use. However, if there is any news on Nokia E-series devices and its software, this is probably one of the first sites that will publish such information.
