The 2009 fantasy baseball draft has a number of strong players at this position. Five of the best available for this year's draft are: Mark Teixeira, Albert Pujols, Miguel Cabrera, Ryan Howard, and Prince Fielder. Don't miss out on drafting one of these players before you go too deep into your fantasy draft picks!

Top 5 First Basemen - Fantasy Baseball Draft Guide 2009

#1 First Baseman - Fantasy Baseball 2009: Mark Teixeira, New York Yankees

Mark Teixeira had a great year in 2008 hitting .308 with 33 HRs, 121 RBI's, and 102 runs scored. Recently signed by the Yankees, look for Teixeira to outdo his 208 numbers and bat over .300 with 40 HRs, over 100 RBIs and score 110 runs in 2009. He is my number one pick for first basemen for the 2009 fantasy baseball draft!

#2 First Baseman - Fantasy Baseball 2009: Albert Pujols, St Louis Cardinals

Albert Pujols had an outstanding year in 2008. He hit for .357, 37 HRs, 116 RBIs, and had 100 runs scored. Although many list him as the number one first baseman, I listed him second behind Teixeira. Prediction for 2009 numbers for Pujos are that he will hit .325, 35 HR's, 110 RBI's, with 90 runs scored. Definitely a great second pick if Teixeira is not on the board in your fantasy draft!

#3 First Baseman - Fantasy Baseball 2009: Miguel Cabrera, Detroit Tigers

Miguel Cabrera had a solid year in 2008 with a .292 batting average, 37 HRs, 127 RBIs, and 85 runs scored. Look for him to improve on these numbers in 2009 and bat over .300 with 30 HRs, 120 RBIs, and 100 runs scored! Another great pick for your 2009 fantasy baseball draft if still on the board when its your turn to pick!

#4 First Baseman - Fantasy Baseball 2009: Ryan Howard, Philadelphia Phillies

Ryan Howard is a great power hitting first baseman! In 2008 he only hit .251, but knocked 48 HRs, with 146 RBIs and 105 runs scored. A great compliment for any 2009 fantasy baseball team, look for him to improve his batting average to .275 with 40 HRs, 110 RBI's, and score more than 100 runs!

#5 First Baseman - Fantasy Baseball 2009: Prince Fielder, Milwaukee Brewers

Prince Fielder had a very solid year in 2008 hitting .276 with 34 HRs, 102 RBIs and 86 runs scored. Look for his HR numbers to get back up in 2009 to over 40 with batting around .280, 100 RBIs, and 90 runs scored next year.

Pujols is WAY better than your projected stats. Pujols should ALWAYS be the first 1st baseman taken.
