1) Call Of Duty 5: World At War: Following in the footsteps of the Call Of Duty franchise, World At War is in intense World War II First person shooter. Just as in COD4: Modern Warfare, World At War has an incredible online game mode that allows you to rank up as you battle people around the world in an extensive set of multiplayer modes. Based on an improved graphics engine, the game provides super-realistic graphics that makes it feel like the battle is playing out right in front of you in real life. A definite holiday must for any gamer or war buff.
2) Left 4 Dead: Valve once again proves that all good things come in time with the release of Left 4 Dead. The long awaited zombie thriller game is finally here and features some technology we have yet to see in other games. One major advancement that have made is with what they have dubbed the 'AI Director'. This allows the game to judge how you have done so far in the game and tweak the AI to be the perfect balance of challenge and fun for your skill set. The Co-op modes are great fun and really put an emphasis on team work in the name of survival. If you have played other horror games in the past, or even if you are new to the genre, you really need to play Left 4 Dead.
3) Grand Theft Auto IV: Rockstar's famed Grand Theft Auto series is back and better than ever with Grand Theft Auto IV. Based around the story of Niko Bellic, GTA IV takes shape in the fictional world of Liberty City. You play as Niko as he tries to rise up in the city but if constantly under a barrage of people from the criminal underworld. Featuring stunning graphics and a totally open-ended world, it is a must have if you have you played any of the other GTA games, or if you just want to have some fun.
4) Far Cry 2: You are a hired gun in the wild lawless wilderness of Africa. This game is simply amazing . The entire world is destructible which adds to the already incredible realism. The AI is some of the best from any game to date, completely unscripted, the game reacts to YOU and how you act. If you are more violent, people will come to fear you. You can even use the environment to your advantage, for example you can use the wind in the game to spread fire and surround your enemies.
5) Dead Space: This game is an intense space thriller game in which you play the role of Isaac, a man trying to survive after his party is attacked and everyone but him is killed. During the game you battle a virus like alien DNA that can even reanimate the bodies of the dead. Played out in an over the shoulder style camera angle, similar to that of Gears of War, the game is perfect if you just want to scream and have fun doing it.
