Top 5 Pet Peeves

Everybody has a pet peeve of one kind or another, that one thing that just drives you insane. I am no different, and have quite a few pet peeves of my own, but I think my biggest one is money. After experience my money pet peeve today it got me thinking of what the most common ones were, and lifescript.com posted fourteen of the most common pet peeves as well as tips to handle any situation.

Two of the ones lifescript.com listed are:

1) Looking over someone shoulder. I agree with this one. It really bugs me when I am writing an article, reading a book, or trying to do something and someone stands right behind me looking right over my shoulder.

2) Talking through a movie. I don't usually mind it and will blow it off but I will admit it irritates me to watch a movie with someone and they have to play it outloud. My husband does this to me all the time when it comes to movies he has seen. He has this uncanny ability to remember every line and will stay it outloud.

What was not mention on the list was:

1) Money. For me it bothers me when someone tells me how I should and shouldn't spend my money. Not only that but when someone complains about how broke they are, so broke they can't pay the bills, but can afford luxury items. Earlier today, I was discussing with my mother how my feet get so swollen and hot at night, which is made worse since giving my fan to my youngest son. My mother's response was to go buy a new one. I would but the kind we use, little fingers can not get through the holes to be chopped off, but I also have school shopping to think about and simply can not afford to waste the extra money.

2) Doing a job wrong. This one really gets my goat going in my house. There is nothing worse than someone helping out and doing it all wrong. A good example of this is doing the dishes. I can not tell you how many times I have pulled out a pan, pot, or dish and found food caked on it still.

3) Being treated like a child. This one I do not have but I can understand how frustrating and annoying it can be to be a teenager and being treated like a child rather than a young adult.

4) People using other people. Perhaps it was because I have had this done to me, but I really do not like to see people using other people. I meant this lady once and my heart went out to her. She barely had any money, surviving on less than 1000 a month with children, and they had nothing. I thought we became friends and went out of my way to help her out, even giving her a 32 inch flat screen TV we no longer used. When we moved from around the corner to a house ten I was not close enough to drop everything to assist her needs anymore, so she wanted nothing to do with me.

I see this with my family too. My sister moved in with mother and they are, more or less, her personally servants. They do all the cooking, cleaning, etc. The sad thing is she gets more money a month than time, yet does not spend one sent to help them out financially.

5) Failing to clean up after yourself. Oh my goodness, this is so annoying. I can perfectly understand young children since they need help but teens and adults have no reason not to pick up after themselves. My husband does this to me all the time, leaving dishes sitting around for me to take care of, which I used to complain about until he got me with the laundry one to many times.

There are days I do not have time to put the clothes away, so I will fold them neatly and put them in a basket until I can get back to them. My husband had a bad habit of throwing his dirty clothes all over the floor and finally, after much griping on my part, began to throw them in the baskets. It just so happened to be the basket with the clean clothes in them.
