Which Nude PETA Advertisements and Other Edgy Campaigns Have Been the Best?

The PETA naked protests and nude media campaigns have been making a splash for over a decade now, but they have really picked up the pace in the last few years. PETA - People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals - is a huge animal rights organization that has drawn the support of many celebrities to their cause. The result has been the eye catching naked protests, campaigns and advertisements and other startling, media-seeking moves.

While many people, myself included, feel that they exceed their boundaries and would better serve their cause by not getting in everyone's face so quite so much, the graphic advertisements, slogans and of course, naked celebrities, sure do keep people talking. With that in mind, here are the 5 most memorable PETA naked campaigns, with links to the PETA nude ads and videos.

PETA Naked Ad # 1 - "I'd Rather Go Naked than Wear Fur" - This might be the most famous of all of the PETA nude protests and advertisements, as many celebrities have gotten involved. The roster of sexy female celebrities to have taken their clothes off in advertisements for PETA includes Eva Mendes, Olympic swimmer Amanda Beard, Roselyn Sanchez, Joanna Krupa, Karina Smirnoff, Khloe Kardashian and Layla Kayleigh to name a few.

PETA Naked Ad # 2 - "Veggie Love: The Banned Super Bowl Commercial" - This racy commercial was banned from appearing in the Super Bowl. The clip features women in lingerie getting pretty hot and heavy with some vegetables to promote a vegetarian lifestyle, or something.

PETA Naked Ad # 3 - "Make Out Tour" - To prove the point that "vegetarians make better lovers", a bunch of people including at least one woman in lingerie passionately made out in public.

PETA Naked Ad #4 - "Alicia Silverstone Naked Veggie Testimonial" - In this naked video advertisement for PETA, Alicia Silverstone talks about how being a vegetarian has improved her life. She does so while getting out from the pool after a skinny dipping session and apparently opting for the "air drying" method.

PETA Naked Ad # 5- "Running of the Nudes" - Protesting the cruelty behind bullfighting and Pamplona's running of the bulls, PETA protestors got naked and marched around the city to support their cause.

So have the PETA naked protests and their other bold media moves influenced my opinions on eating meat or wearing certain types of clothing? No, besides the fact that I've never worn fur, I don't ever see myself giving up the likes of steak, barbeque, hamburgers or chili. Regardless of how you feel about their viewpoints, the PETA naked protests and other media campaigns certainly make their presence felt. I know that I will be sure to keep my eyes open, I mean keep my mind open, for what else PETA comes out with.
