Top 5 Places to Buy Holiday Decorations in Toledo, Ohio

The Holiday season is upon us. You even see it in the stores now before school starts. Halloween decorations are all on closeout sales and now it's time to shop for Christmas items! In my hometown of Toledo, Ohio, there are many places you can find holiday decorations. Most grocery stores, drug stores, big chain stores and craft stores all compete for your dollars. Below are my five favorite stores to buy decorations for your home.

Michaels Art and Craft Store
This store is my favorite place to shop for decorations. It is my first choice and first stop. It is located at 5255 Airport Hwy., Toledo, Ohio. It is open seven days a week. Monday through Saturday, it is open from 9am until 9pm. Sunday it is open from 10am until 7pm. As soon as you enter this store you will be surprised at the huge inventory of holdiay decorations. It doesn't matter what the holiday is, any time of the year they will have the best selection. The closer to the holiday, the better the deals. I especially love to go the day after a holiday for the best bargains in town!

Target
This is my second favorite store in Toledo. Target is located at 5225 Monroe Street, Toledo, Ohio. Their hours of operations are Monday through Saturday, 8am until 10pm. On Sunday they open at 8am until 9pm. Right now they currently have Halloween and Christmas decorations up for sale. In the back of the store there is a separate area that they decorate up for the coming holiday. The same thing holds true for this store - the closer to the holiday the better the deal. If you want to shop and save lots of money - make sure you get to the store early, the day after Christmas. Like 5am early! But if you want to be sure to get the best selection you better go sooner rather than later. At least 1/4 of their store is always reserved for holiday decorations.

Home Depot
This is a home improvement store but they do a great Christmas decoration display! Home Depot is located at 5900 Airport Hwy. , Toledo, Ohio. Their hours are Monday through Saturday, 6am until 10pm. Sunday hours are 8am until 8pm. They have aisles and aisles of decorations. You can even go outside in there garden area to see live trees, wreaths and outdoor decorations. This store has the best deals on things you need to power your decorations. Don't forget this is a hardware store. They will have all your electrical connections there too.

Lowes
This is another home improvement store. Lowes is located at 5501 Airport Hwy., Toledo, Ohio. The hours of operation are Monday through Saturday, 7am until 10pm. Sunday they are open from 8am until 8pm. This is the best place to buy a live Christmas tree! They have beautiful trees and the selection is awesome. You will have to brave the cold winter breezes in their outdoor garden area, but it is definitely worth it. I have bought my tree there the last four years. Inside you will find so many ideas for decorating. They have a good selection of indoor and outdoor items. The displays they have set up make it seem like you are in a winter wonderland.

Hobby Lobby
This is a craft store located at 5329 Monroe Street, Toledo, Ohio. Their hours are Monday thru Saturday, from 9am until 8pm. They are closed on Sunday. As you would expect, this is a craft store with lots of great ideas. You can make your own holiday decorations or you can buy ready made ones. They sell holiday kits for children and adults. They will also have a great after holiday sale. Don't forget to go early for the best selections. This is a great place to shop if you want to personally make your decorations.
