Top 5 Places to Find Grocery Coupons

Danielle L
Being a stay at home mom I consider it my job to stretch our money as far as we can get it to go. The easiest way to do this is by using coupons when I go grocery shopping. I started out with cutting coupons from my local Sunday newspaper but over time I have found some great places to find coupons and here I will share them with you.

Your Sunday Newspaper

This is the one everybody thinks about when it comes to finding coupons. Each week you should have at least one insert, sometimes 5 or more! Each week you should have either the Smart Source and/or the Red Plum inset. The end of every month there is an insert from Proctor and Gamble and some weeks there are special manufacture inserts for their products. Now a few things to remember about coupons in the Sunday papers is not every newspaper will have the same coupons. So sometimes it's good to join a coupon swap group and swap your unused coupons with people around the country to get different coupons you may not have. You can find coupon swap in places like Yahoo Groups. One I recommend is D&D Coupon Swap. Also remember that on Holiday weekends there will be no Coupons in the paper.

Online

You can find tons of coupons that aren't in the Sunday paper online, but before you start printing out coupons make sure your grocery store accepts printed coupons. You can normally find this online at your stores website. If not just call your store and ask customer service. Once you have verified that you will be able to use printed coupons it's time to start looking around. A few of the tops sites to check out are www.coupons.com, www.couponmom.com, www.smartsource.com, www.couponsurfer.com, and www.redplum.com. Next once you have your grocery list put together check out the manufactures websites of items you haven't found coupons for. Many manufactures will post coupons on new items or stuff they want people to buy. Also before you go to the store log on to www.coupontom.com and type in what you will be buying. This site tells you if there are any coupons online or what newspaper the coupon for the item you are buying was in.

In Store

Most stores will have many places to find coupons for the items they sell. First place to check out is when you first walk in. The weekly fliers will have coupons are on the same shelves as the fliers will be other fliers filled with coupons. They next place in store to look is on the shelves threw out the store. Many stores will have coupons dispensers for items on the shelf or a stack of coupons to rip off when you use the product. Check the expiration date if you will be buying more of the product before the expiration date take more than one coupon as they may not be there next week!

Magazines

One of the best magazines to get coupons from is All You only found at Wal-Mart. If you don't shop at Wal-Mart you can go online to www.allyou.com and get a subscription. This magazine as at least $50 of coupons in each issue most issues have close to $100 of coupons. Also check any magazine you get regularly. Parenting magazines normally have several coupons as does Magazine like Redbook and Ladies Home Journal.

On or Inside the Products You Buy

Don't forget to check inside the boxes of products you use! Many will put in coupons one of the big ones are Scrubbing Bubbles and Playtex bottle drop-ins. They will put in an insert with coupons. Some like Banquet Microwave meals will coupons in the side of the box. So make sure you check before you just toss them when you're done!
