Top 5 Places to Upload and Share Files

No Rapidshare

We all know that rapidshare is the big daddy when it comes to uploading and sharing files, but now-a-days rapidshare has begun to suck like never before. So I decided to do a little research to find the best sites to upload, backup and share files.

1. Windows Live SkyDrive - 25 GB *gasp* of free space to upload anything you want. All you need is a Windows Live Id or a hotmail account. And you can easily share files with your friends and family by putting them in the "Public" folder.

2. Live Mesh - It is a file sync tool from Microsoft which you can use on your desktop to upload selected files and share them. All you need is a Windows Live Id or a hotmail id. Upto 5 GB of space allowed and you can even upload and sync files from your Windows Mobile Device.

3. Mediafire - The most modern and slick file uploader on the internet today. It has an inbuilt virus scan so that no infected files are downloaded. Allows you to upload files upto 100 MB in size. Not even Rapidshare can do that.

4. Box.net - It is the most user-friendly file sharing and uploading tool on the internet today. Winner of Webware 100 - top web apps of 2007. It has a free plan and other paid business plans. The free plan offers 1 GB of storage with a 25 MB per file limit.

5. Dropbox - You just have to download a client and then you have the power to upload files of any size, yes ANY size. The total space alloted is 2GB and the syncing and downloading schemes are very flexible and convinient.

These are some of the best uploading, sharing and backup apps available today. Have fun using them.
