Curt Schilling gave serious thought to running for US Senate in 2008, but decided to go back and pitch one more season for the Red Sox. Now in retirement and living in Medfield, Massachusetts it's time for Curt Schilling to step up to the plate and run for Senate.
If Curt Schilling does run I am sure he will win in a landslide. After doing the unthinkable and winning the Red Sox not 1 but 2 World Series titles what self respecting Sox fan wouldn't vote for Curt Schilling for US Senate?
With that in mind here is a list of the top 5 reasons Curt Schilling should run for Senate:
5) Curt Schilling knows about health care! Ankle problems, shoulder problems arm problems, you name it he's had it. Just look at his recent stints on the DL and his 2008 biceps tenodesis surgery as proof. Curt Schilling has seen the ins and outs of our healthcare system and needs to take that experience with him to Washington. Besides isn't it about time somebody waived a bloody sock on the floor of the US Senate? I think it is!
4) Curt Schilling does good works. His charity Pitch for ALS raised millions of dollars for research to fight Lou Gehrig's Disease. Besides don't we need a US Senator who has made a wine called Schilling Schardonnay? (Schilling donated all the money from the sale of the wine to Pitch for ALS)
3) Sen. Jim Bunning has announced his retirement. If Curt Schilling doesn't run, the US Senate could have no former MLB players as members come January of 2011. That is just un-American!
2) No member of the US Senate has ever been a member of the New York Yankees. Why? Because guys like Alex Rodriguez couldn't get elected dog catcher. So when Schilling wins the Red Sox will have one upped the Yankees once again. Take that Yankee fans!
1) Dude, he's Curt Schilling! If Curt Schilling could lead the Red Sox to win a World Series think of where he could lead our country. With the mess our country is in don't we need a miracle right about now? Well if the 2004 ALCS wasn't a miracle than I don't know what is. Curt Schilling can make miracles happen and who wouldn't want that quality in a US Senator!

Post a CommentI think it would be great for him to run. It%27s time the state of Massachusetts stepped up to what their elders believed in.
Tyler, I don't think Schilling has a home in AZ. He was born in Alaska but his family always considers Pennsylvania home.
Right now lives in Medfield, MA
His politics would be a better fit for Arizona. He should consider running there when McCain retires. I assume he might still have a home there. I also always viewed him as a blowhard who would never stop complaining about this or that.
Sounds like an interesting idea... I'd like it, but I doubt he would win since he's much more conservative than the state as a whole
