Top 5 Reasons Not to See Due Date Movie

Colt Kingston
If you can't decide whether or not you want to see the new Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galafianakis movie by director Todd Phillips, here are five reasons that might sway you to save your ten bucks.

No. 5: One Loud Note

"Due Date is a one note movie that plays its note loud, early and often... To that end, I strongly endorse watching bits of Due Date when you stumble upon it on Starz." Quote by movie reviewer Jordan Hoffman from UGO.

No. 4: Homonuttiness

"For many people, the term Due Date means expiration for library books. For Todd Phillips and Robert Downey, it means car crashes, scatology and homonuttiness." Quote by movie reviewer Armond White from NY Press.

No 3: Tender Dog-Masturbation Jokes

"(Director Todd Phillips) can still launch a dog-masturbation joke into the stratosphere, but the welcome surprise here is tenderness." Quote by movie reviewer Joshua Rothkopf from New York Time Out.

No. 2: Itchy Discomfort

"There are those who can take the trippy, oblivious, big-bearded, man-baby humor of Zach Galifianakis only in small doses - an SNL sketch here, an online episode of Between Two Ferns there. Longer exposure leads to itchy discomfort. To them I say, don't see Due Date." Quote by movie reviewer Lisa Schwarzbaum from EW.com.

No. 1: Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

"Watching the latest homage-slash-imitation reminds one afresh how good a balancing act between slapstick and sympathy John Hughes' Planes, Trains And Automobiles really was. While strikingly similar in concept, Due Date aspires to be a darker, edgier variation on the odd-couple-on-a-road-trip theme. If one reads 'darker' as crueller and meaner, and 'edgier' as not actually all that funny, this scores." Quote by movie reviewer Angie Errigo from Empire Online.
