Top 5 Reasons Why Democrats Shouldn't Vote for John McCain

Hard Worker
As a firm-standing Democrat, I cannot understand why so many Democrats would vote for John McCain if their Democratic Party choice does not win the Democratic nominee. Here is why I think it is mind-boggling to vote for John McCain and why, if you are a Democrat, you should vote for whoever the party nominee is:

1. Clinton and Obama's position are so similar! Seriously! Have you even looked at their platforms or are you just judging them on character? I consider myself to be well-informed about politics and if you were to look at both of their platforms, you can see that they have similar positions on almost every issue. Both want to bring the troops home after a year, both want universal health care, both want to be pro-active on the sub-prime mortgage mess, etc. I could go on and on about how similar their policies are.

2. John McCain is a war hawk. People, do you really want another pro-Bush war hawk in the White House? It is a serious mess in Iraq and American troops are courageously fighting in a war that is meaningless to the United States. Both Obama and Clinton want to bring the troops home, not keep them in Iraq for the next 10-100 years as McCain has stated he wants to do. That is simply a result I cannot tolerate.

3. McCain doesn't have a plan for the economy! Folks, have you even heard him utter anything about the economy? Because I sure haven't. There's a reason why John McCain got thoroughly trounced during the Republican primary to Mitt Romney in states where the economy was the number one issue. John McCain simply can't help the economy and doesn't have a plan for it. He wants business to regulate itself and that simply is the status quo. We currently have an economy in ruins with companies like Bear Stearns going out of business and the dollar is falling fast. John McCain wants to keep us in a war that is costing us $19 million each month and he has no plan for putting back together this economy.

4. He doesn't inspire change or hope. As a Democrat, I'm sick of the last eight years of the Bush regime. I want change, and both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama can do that. Granted, as a pro-Obama supporter, I believe that Obama can bring more change and hope to this country, but I think that Clinton can sure bring more change than John McCain ever will. John McCain wants to continue the disastrous policies of Bush and this will be a serous error.

5. It's time for universal health care: Why are we the only modern democratic nation without health care? It simply astounds me. Every modern European county has universal health care, but somehow, the United States, the richest, most powerful country can't find a way to make health care work? C'mon people. Both Obama and Clinton want to make universal health care a top priority so that lower and middle class people don't have to spend thousands of dollars if they have to see a doctor. John McCain rants about how the U.S. is going to afford universal health care; here's an idea Johnny, we save $19 million a month just by getting out of Iraq. That should be enough money to cover the cost. If all of the rest of the modern European countries are able to do it, so should the U.S. to improve the quality of life for each person.

David, there's plenty of other reasons NOT to vote for Obama other than him being black or the "slander on tv". he cotradicts himself, admits to attending flag burning cermonies, wants to kill LIVE human babies that live thru a failed abortion and can survive outside the mothers womb, he's constantly twisting around the Scripture to make it agree with him.

that's it? that's your argument? i'm no mccain supporter, but that was pathetic.

    4. "he doesn't inspire change or hope." HA! what a silly reason to support someone. oooh!! he makes me feel all fuzzy and hopeful inside!!!11!! how naive can you be? actors do the same thing on camera, do you really think politicians are any different?? there's a difference between good change and bad change.

sorry, i'm just sick of democrats (and republicans) who so easily fall for politicians' bull. and if you think socialized health care is a good idea, maybe do some research on the subject first. the reason health care sucks right now is because the government has gotten it's dirty fingers all over it (just read about the bloated FDA and how many natural remedies and effective drugs have been swept under the carpet for the profit of big pharma.) ...but at least we both hate the current republican party ;)

Fabletoo, how are you going to vote for anyone if you live in Thailand? And what don't you trust about Obama? Seriously, he's an upstanding citizen and a really great leader, he's a lot better than Hillary. I mean the only reason to not vote for him is either because of slander on the T.V. Or because he's black. Bill Clinton said himself that Obama is more then qualified to be the next president. A vote for Nader is a vote for Mccain, so I think it's better if you just not vote at all. People like you shouldn't call yourselves democrats, focus on the issues at hand and you'll find that Obama smashes Mccain everytime.
