Mystic, Connecticut is a tourist town that offers many fine dining or casual dining options for a romantic night out. Mystic offers great views and scenic walks with a bustling crowd of locals and out of towners during the warm months of the year. Not only can the meal be romantic but there are activities afterwards that will complete the whole night.

1) Rice Spice and Noodle - This Thai themed restaurant is perfect for the couple who wants a modern meal at an affordable price. With reviews from the New York Times http://events.nytimes.com/2005/09/04/travel/04ctdine.html and other papers this establishment is perfect for a Romantic night. The menu is a Thai fusion that specializes in noodle and rice dishes often accompanied by Curry. The tea selection is loose leaf and offers a nice alternative to water or other beverages.

Rice Spice and Noodle is located at 4 Roosevelt Avenue and does not serve alcoholic beverages. The establishment is however BYOB with an uncorking fee for bottles of wine. While the menu is varied there are a few standout dishes, the spring rolls wrapped with rice paper provide a nice starter to your meal. The Pad Thai is fantastic and the drunken noodle dishes are can't miss as well. Be sure to finish off your meal with a cup of tea.

2) Captain Daniel Packer Inn - Known as DPI to the locals this restaurant features a nice nautical theme and qualifies more as a fine dining experience. Located at 32 Water Street, the DPI http://www.danielpacker.com/ has an excellent menu and to take full advantage of it, reservations are recommended. The ambience is candle lit and old paintings and nautical items adorn the walls.

The food is exceptional and the plates range from $20-40. Fresh baked bread with spreadable roasted garlic is served before the meal. Entrees cover the basics such as beef, seafood, and chicken. The local favorite is the Lemon Peppered Chicken which is served over a lemon beurre blanc sauce.

3) Mystic Pizza - Located in the heart of downtown Mystic. This pizza joint has some cool history with the Julia Roberts movie having been filmed there. There is still a little romance left in this frequently visited restaurant which is on Main Street http://www.mysticpizza.com/index.htm. The menu is fairly ordinary with all the pizza basics covered.

Grab a Samuel Adams and order the Moussakka pizza. This restaurant is best paired with a walk afterwards to soak up the downtown ambience. A must visit for fans of the movie and a quaint trip for other romantic endeavors.

4) Taste of India - A nice little Indian food restaurant located at 35 Williams Avenue. The actual building is small with seating inside for about 20 guests, however during the warmer months there is seating available outside. The wait staff is friendly and helpful when ordering. 5) Bravo Bravo - This restaurant takes fine dining seriously and reservations are recommended. The owner of this establishment also has two other fine dining restaurants located in both Mystic and Groton, Connecticut. The food is spectacular and the wait staff is professional. The crab cakes are a favorite and the atmosphere is romantic. To complete the evening make sure you order a dessert and enjoy an espresso afterwards. Right smack dab in downtown Mystic located at 20 East Main Street.
