Here is my countdown of the 5 best rock albums from the year 2007.

5. Modest Mouse- We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank
This was the fifth album released off of the Epic Records Label. The album has sold over 500,000 copies in the US alone, and has been certified Gold. The singles off the album were Dashboard, Fire It Up, Missed The Boat, We've Got Everything, and Little Motel. The album also peaked at #1 on the Billboard 200 in the US.

4. Nine Inch Nails- Year Zero
This was the sixth and last album released by the group, and it was released off of Interscope records. The album reached number 2 on the Billboard 200 and sold more than 185,000 copies in the first week of sales. The singles off the album were Survivalism and Capital G. Rolling Stone Magazine rated the album 4 out of a possible 5 stars, while AllMusic gave the album 4.5 out of 5 stars.

3. The White Stripes- Icky Thump
This was their sixth studio album and their first off of Warner Bros. Records. The album debuted at number 2 on the Billboard 200 and sold more than 220,000 copies in the first week. The album won the 2008 Grammy Award for the Best Alternative Music Album. The singles off the album were Icky Thump, Rag and Bone, You Don't Know What Love Is, and Conquest.

2. Arcade Fire- Neon Bible
This was the second album released by the band, and it was of the Merge Record Label. The album debuted at number 2 on the Billboard 200. The singles off the album were Black Mirror, Keep The Car Running, Intervention, and No Cars Go. This is the most successful album of the groups career by far. Q, Rolling Stone, and Spin Magazines all ranked the album in it's top 5 albums of the year.

1. Radiohead- In Rainbows
This is the second studio album and it was released by the group themselves. The record won the Grammy Awards for Best Alternative Music Album and Best Special Limited Edition Package. The album also debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200 and in the UK Albums Chart. The singles off the album were Jigsaw Falling into Place, Nude, House of Cards/Bodysnatchers, and Reckoner.
