Superman-The Escape
This roller coaster is located in Valencia, California. There are many things that make this roller coaster one of the best in America, such as its height of 415 feet. It is also said to be one of the fastest roller coasters in the world, and that is what it's advertised as. This reverse free fall rides goes 100 mph, and gets up to that speed in under seven seconds! Superman-The Escape is quite an impressive structure. This ride weighs six tons and is 1,315 feet long.
Boulder Dash
Boulder Dash is located in Bristol, Connecticut. This roller coaster is not one of the fastest, one of the tallest, or one of the scariest, but it is definitely one of the coolest. Boulder Dash is a wooden roller coaster, as many of the great ones are. What makes this particular roller coaster one of the best in America is that it is built on the side of a mountain. When you are riding this roller coaster you get to enjoy a magnificent view.
Millennium Force
Millennium Force is located in Sandusky, Ohio, the home of many great rides. When it was built, Millennium Force was the tallest roller coaster in the world, standing at 310 feet. This 6,595 feet roller coaster is scary and exciting until the very end. The most terrifying part of Millennium Force is its 300 foot drop. Not only is falling 300 feet scary on its own, but with this ride, you drop at an incredible 80 degree, almost straight down.
Griffon
This roller coaster is located in Williamsburg, Virginia. What makes this roller coaster one of the best is its tiered seating, which allows every passenger to feel as if they are in the front seat. This roller coaster takes its passengers up 205 feet and pauses for a few seconds before dropping them straight down at 75 mph.
Texas Giant
The Texas Giant is located in Arlington, Texas. This is one of the tallest wooden roller coasters in the America. Passengers on the Texas Giant experience 21 separate drops at 62 mph. There are also many whiplash turns and it just doesn't slow down until the ride is over.

I used to be a Roller Coaster freak, but once I hit 40, and they started building them out of aluminum, I put that part of my life behind me. We were always pretty proud of the wooden coaster at nearby Dorney Park, which I think is now the oldest wooden coaster still in use.

Ah yes, the roller coasters of America...the Cedar Point area is where my home town is located...many happy summers spent on coasters and other rides at one of the greatest amusement parks in the country.
