Top 5 Romantic Comedies Coming to the Theaters in 2010

I'm a huge movie buff and as it gets close to the end of the year, I always look into what is coming out the next year. How good or bad a movie is makes no difference in how it performs the first week or two at the movie theaters. There have been plenty of horrible movies that had great opening weekends at the box office and good ones that started off slow then built up steam. This is because it is all about the hype. Believe it or not, I'm a guy that actually doesn't mind watching romantic comedies. As long as the movie has a good story line, I'm up for it. Here are the five most anticipated romantic comedies that hit the big screen in 2010.

5. Leap Year - Amy Adams was Julie from the movie, Julie & Julia. She was also the most famous woman pilot in history, Amelia Earheart in Night at the Museum: II the Battle of the Smithsonian. You would think after those that she would be the one being proposed to. Nevertheless, the beautiful starlet stars in this romantic comedy where she takes on the task of turning her love into forever after. Her plan is to take a trip to Ireland and keep with an old Irish tradition of asking her mate to marry her on Leap Day.

4. When In Rome - Do as the Romans do? What exactly is it that Romans do? They throw coins into a fountain. So, what's a girl to do if she has no luck with men whatsoever? That's easy. Steal some coins from the fountain and she will have more men chasing her than she could've ever dreamed of. Couples Retreat, Kristen Bell must figure out if Josh Duhamel really loves her or is one of the suitors that came about from the coins in the fountain. After all, Duhamel could just be a prize to some winner of a contest. Not that he was just that in Win a Date with Tad Hamilton, or anything of that sort.

3. Date Night- You want a romantic comedy that will make you laugh so hard your sides hurt? This is your best bet. How can you go wrong with a 40-year-old virgin known as Steve Carell and SNL's superstar comedian Tina Fey? In this movie, a glamorous and romantic date takes a thrilling twist. Did you really expect normal out of these two? They are joined by many great actors like Ray Liotta, Mark Wahlberg and heartthrob James Franco.

2. Sex and the City 2- Couldn't get enough of Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda on the famous television show? A lot of other women couldn't either, which is why they created a Sex and the City movie. What happens when that movie is a hit? That's right. A sequel that is slated to hit the screen May 28th. This one even has an appearance by teen icon Miley Cyrus. Don't ask me why though, because I doubt you will see many major Cyrus fans at an R Rated movie. I might like all movies, but I think I'm leaving this for my girlfriend to watch on a girl's night out. Then again, this movie is perfect for such a night, isn't it?

1. Valentine's Day- So what do you really want for Valentine's Day? How about a movie? I'll tell you what; you can even have it two days early. This isn't just any movie, though. This movie has Taylor Lautner, Twilight's new super hunk. Want more? I will throw in The Hangover's Bradley Cooper and dreamboat Patrick Dempsey. Why stop there? Let's mix in Jamie Foxx, Topher Grace, Ashton Kutcher and a Jonas brother. What's missing? Oh yeah, some females. No problem, we got a few of those, too. Ever hear of Julia Roberts, Anne Hathaway or Jessica Alba? Yeppers, they're all here. That's not enough; let's add some more. Maybe Jessica Biel, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Garner and Emma Roberts will do the trick. How did they pull off getting all of these names into one romantic comedy? I didn't even mention George Lopez and Queen Latifah. Do you ever have to know what this movie is about to go see it? In case you do, it all centers on the so-called hallmark holiday, Valentine's Day. We watch the couples and singles fall in love, break-up and even make-up all because of the pressures and expectations that February 14th brings.
