It can be a scary thing for a child to go to Kindergarten. For many children, this is the first time they spend a full day away from their parents or known caretakers. Many parents are sad to see them go, too. However, they don't cry until the child is in the school. Other times, parents are happy that their children are going to school. No matter what the situation, kindergartners needs school supplies. Many schools provide what is needed, but there are always some items that should be remembered as they may not be on the list of school supplies.

Backpack

If going to school, a child is going to need a backpack to carry all the papers and other school supplies. This could be one that is worn on the back or it could be one that is a rolling back pack. Kindergartners are probably fine with a backpack worn n the back, but a rolling backpack may be needed if the one on the back is too heavy or uncomfortable.

Many times clipboards are not seen other than gym coaches and other people in sports using them. However, a clipboard is an important supply for a kindergartner. It can keep papers from flying all over the place. It also gives the kindergartner a place to write when there are no tables or hard surfaces nearby.

While some kindergartners may eat lunch in the cafeteria, there will be many who prefer lunch from home. Lunch from home can also be more nutritious than the food served in the cafeteria. A lunch box is a great things for a kindergartner to have. Even if lunch is not stored in a lunch box, some kindergarten classes have a snack time and a lunch box is the perfect place to hold a snack.

Sleep Mat

A sleep mat is traditionally known as a Kinder Mat. The reason for this is that Kinder Mat is a brand. It is the brand of mat that has one red side and one blue side. There are other sleep mats, though, and they come in different colors. If there are no certain color requirements, the kindergartner can pick a favorite color of mat for nap time in kindergarten.
