Top 5 Scrapbooking Materials

Bridget Ilene Delaney

A great way to keep memories is to create a scrapbook. However, in order to create a proper scrapbook, the proper materials are needed. Here is a guide to having the proper materials.

A Scrapbook

The first thing you need is a scrapbook. It is true that you can put paper together and make a scrapbook. However, scrapbooks come with paper that doesn't have acid, so the pictures don't get ruined. If you put paper together, it is important to make sure that the paper is safe for photos so the acid in it won't eat the photos away when the paper touches them.

Scissors

Part of scrapbooking is cutting out photos, shapes, and other things from paper. It is important to have a good pair of scissors for scrapbooking so photos and paper can be cut into the desired shapes. There are also special scissors with designed edges that are made to cut scrapbooking materials.

You can be simple and cut along outlines of people or you can get fancy and create your own designs. What's great about scrapbooking is that the cutting of objects can be for anybody. A person does not have to have great artistic ability to create a scrapbook.

Glue

Glue is essential in scrapbooking. It is what keeps the photos, paper, and other designs on the page. If there is no glue, a scrapbook cannot be made. A good idea is to use a glue tick rather than liquid glue. A glue stick is easier to use and it also does not create as much of a mess.

Scrapbooking Paper

I've already covered getting a scrapbook. Scrapbooking paper is paper that is sold in with designs and sometimes it is already cut into shapes to be put in the scrapbook. This paper is needed so the scrapbook can look pretty and it can be made into a keepsake that will stay a keepsake and not have acid in it to ruin the pictures.
