Top 5 Second Honeymoon Destinations

ED Watts
If you are considering going on a second honeymoon trip, try one of these romantic destinations.

Caribbean Cruise

Cruising the Caribbean is fun and enjoyable for just about anyone. The cost of a cruise depends on which cruise line you use, time of year, the length of the trip, and the type of room you stay in. For example, a four day Western Caribbean cruise through Carnival in June costs $75 to $162 per night. The cost for the trip will also be more depending on any excursions you participate in and travel to the departure port.

Some romantic activities to participate in are snorkeling and kayaking. This is a great way to take in the sights without people around.

Trip to Charleston

Stay at Palmer Home Bed & Breakfast in Charleston, SC for a second honeymoon. Palmer Home is located on the Charleston Battery and was built in the 1800s. Prices start at $110 per night depending on the time of the year. Included in the price is a full breakfast each morning and afternoon wine and cheese, which you can take in from the balcony overlooking the Charleston Harbor.

For a romantic supper, try out Magnolia's Restaurant, followed by a carriage ride. There are many fun, romantic things to do in this historic coastal town.

Tour of Italy

A trip to Italy is always ideal when you want to go somewhere romantic, especially for a second honeymoon. Go Ahead Tours offers tours of Italy from 8 to 16 days in length and the prices range from $1699 to almost $5000.

Whether you head to Tuscany to see wine country and take a trip to the spa or go to Rome for a tour of the Sistine Chapel, you and your spouse will have a wonderful time.

Mexican Resort

Mexico is a top honeymoon destination, so why not try a second honeymoon there? Try out the Akumal Beach Resort, where rates start at around $150 per night for this all-inclusive resort. The best thing about the Akumal Beach Resort is that you never have to leave. You can go kayaking and snorkeling, dancing at night, or dine in their Mexican and Italian restaurants.

For fun outside the resort, drive to the Mayan Ruins or Xel-Ha, a natural water park. I went to the Akumal Beach Resort for my honeymoon and would go back in a heartbeat for another romantic trip.

Alaskan Cruise

Another great second honeymoon trip is an Alaskan cruise. Rates start at $80 per day for winter and summer cruises on the Princess line. The sites are breath taking, including the views of the glaciers and wildlife. You can also dance with your spouse at a club on the ship or sit on the deck and look for humpback whales.

An Alaskan cruise is a great pick for a second honeymoon because it is different from the typical destinations and you and your spouse can take in this new experience as you celebrate your marriage.
