Bread is a popular food. It is understandable that it is popular as it is the staple food of many cultures. In America, many brands and types of bread are sold. Everybody has different tastes in bread. However, every brand of bread is going to have sales reports. Here are the top five brands of bread sold in the United States recorded by sales reports.

Wonder Bread

Wonder Bread wasn't any wonder at first. It is the bread that comes in a plastic wrapping and has the red, yellow, and blue circles. However, it now has over ten varieties of bread, which may be considered a wonder. No matter what it is considered, Wonder Bread is the top-selling brand of bread.

Pepperidge Farm

Pepperidge Farm is usually known for sweets as most people relate things like Milano cookies with the company. They are also known for Goldfish Crackers. However, Pepperidge Farm also sells varieties of breads. The company sells both fresh breads and frozen breads. Pepperidge Farm began when Margaret Rudkin decided to start baking bread for her asthmatic son since he could not have the additives put in commercial breads. This was started on their property in Connecticut known as Pepperidge Farm.

Orowheat

Orowheat is known as a manufacturer of healthy breads. Most people probably think of wheat bread when this is mentioned. Orowheat does have wheat bread. However, Orowheat also sells rye, buttermilk, onion, and other varieties of bread. They also sell bagels, English muffins, buns, rolls, and sandwich thins.

Nature's Own

Nature's Own is a brand owned by Flour Foods. Nature's Own manufactures varieties of wheat bread and specialty breads, bungs, bagels, and sandwich rounds.

Sunbeam

Sunbeam bread is the bread that comes in a yellow package with a clear window to see the bread. There is a picture of a girl eating a sandwich. Sunbeam manufactures white breads and buns. Sunbeam also manufactures cakes and doughnuts.
