Top 5 Shampoos for Dry Scalp

Stop Scratching and Do Something About This Problem

I hate to admit that I have dry scalp but I have had this issue for years and have found the following shampoos effective for dry scalp treatment. There is nothing like an itchy scalp as it will drive you batty and make you scream if not treated appropriately and quickly.

Head and Shoulders is probably the one most people are familiar with as it has been advertised heavily in the past making it a solid brand for dry scalp shampoo. It tends to be mild and is effective if used 3-4 times a week but it can also make your hair unruly needing a conditioner. H & S came out with a product that was both but I tend to think that you need to get two products for conditioner top be very effective.

Another shampoo for dry scalp is Neutrogena Triple Moisture Dry Scalp Soothing Shampoo. Hey that's a mouthful but honestly it feels great on your scalp and smells good compared to most dry scalp shampoos. It can be purchased online but that tends to be inconvenient for me.

Selsun Blue is kind of a Head and Shoulders type dry scalp shampoo I have used. It pretty much performed like H & S and was comparable cost wise. It even resembles H & S only a little creamer and lighter. I didn't use it to long, as it wasn't any more effective then its counterpart.

The weakest dry scalp shampoo I tried was Aloe Vera Shampoo by Mill Creek and is sold at health products stores locally. Aloe Vera is well known for its hydrating, softening and anti-inflammatory qualities. Aloe Vera is derived from cactus and is good to use for burns (sunburns particularly) but I found it ineffective as a dry scalp shampoo.

The best shampoo for dry scalp is Denorex and once you get past the awful smell it works wonders and pretty much cleared up my problem. It looks a little like tar and it tingles a lot. Actually is somewhat therapeutic in feel but it continues to work long after you get out of the shower. I found that using 2-3 times a week was sufficient and helped to drive down the cost as I used less.

Well there you have it 5 dry scalp shampoos that I have tried and if I had to recommend one it would be Denorex by a mile.
