Top 5 Signs that You Should Stop Your Diet Program

Engaging in a diet program could be really tedious especially if you're doing it for the first time. It involves complete motivation, perseverance, hard work, dedication, focus, and the right goals. However, even if you really need to undergo in a diet program, there are a few cases when you need to just stop for a while and re-evaluate your regimen. I've been engaging myself in different diet programs in last decade and let me share my top 5 list of reasons why you must stop your diet program.

5. Probably one of the most common reasons why you must stop your workout would be physical trauma/injuries. For many people, doing high-impact workouts such as aerobics, kickboxing, dancing, etc. require extra effort for the body to move. Movements usually involve running/sprinting, jumping, pushing, pulling, etc. However, these high-impact exercises can lead to injuries such as fractures, sprains, arthritis, and injuries caused by accidents such as deep cuts and internal bleeding. You need to stop immediately and get yourself treated at the nearest hospital or medical facility.

4. Poorly planned meals. If you're undergoing a diet program which involves eating 1,000 calories or less a day, I would suggest that you stop it immediately and plan once again on what you would eat. Eating a lot less would most likely help you lose weight but will also deprive your body of its much needed nutrients to function. This may or may not happen to you but severe lack of carbohydrates (energy giving food), would probably weaken your body. You'll most likely find yourself unable to push your body more during exercises. Most of the time, it's really what you eat. Are you eating healthy foods?

3. Budget limitations. Aside from your body, you also need to take care of your finances. Not everyone can afford to buy membership at a gym or exercise equipments and not everyone has the ability to buy a variety of recommended foods. If you have a diet plan consisting of multiple types of foods that you'll find yourself spending more than you can afford stop it and re-plan your meals again. The same goes for equipments and gym memberships/fees. If you can't afford a high class gym, choose one that has a lower price. Or, you can just improvise on stuff you can find at home. Use your creativity and don't forget to save up.

2. If your diet plan is not working. Well, most of them actually do provided that you follow it by heart. You can't exercise and eat a pint of chocolate ice cream or two a day and expect to lose weight. If you engage in enough physical activity while following a good weight loss meal plan, you will lose weight. If you keep on eating burgers, French fries, loads of chocolate and pasta, ice cream and donuts, and other luxury/fatty foods, you'll most likely fail. Stop immediately and rethink your goal, motivation, drive, and focus.

1. Occurrence/Reoccurrence of serious illnesses. Engaging your body in strenuous exercises can cause you more harm than good if you have existing conditions such as heart ailments, hypertension, pulmonary disorders such as asthma and COPD, other circulatory diseases and more. If you're pushing yourself too much just to lose the weight while taking the risk of having a stroke or a heart attack because your body can't take it isn't good at all. Stop immediately and go to your doctor. Your doctor will analyze your medical history and will be able to give you a program that is fit for your physical condition.

So there you have it. You may also experience other signs that can indicate that you need to stop your diet program and these may or may not happen to you. Always, plan well on your exercise routines and meals, establish correct goals, maintain your motivation and focus, and most of all, do not exert way too much effort and listen to your body. Always ask for advice from your physician if you want to undergo a diet program.
