Top 5 Songs Relating to Soldiers and War
Songs that Keep Hope Alive as Your Soldier is Away This Holiday Season
1-American Soldier
This song should remind everyone of just why their soldier is gone, and make them smile knowing that he is doing what he feels is right. We need to be as proud of the soldier's as they are of themselves- they deserve it.
2-Never Alone- Jim Brickman featuring Lady Antebellum
Never Alone is an amazing song, and is actually one of my all time favorite songs ever. This is a beautiful song about how love can keep us with someone even if they are not here. I heard this song for the first time a few weeks ago, and it couldn't have come at a better time. It makes me think of the guy I love who will be joining the Marines, and it helps to reassure me that we are never alone because we love each other and wherever this journey may take him, I want him to know that my heart will be with him.
3-Letters From Home- John Michael Montgomery
This is a great song that should remind us all to keep writing our loved ones as they are away fighting for our country. It is true that the letters they receive from us will keep them pushing on, keep them sure of what it is that they are fighting for. I know that you miss your loved one, but remember to write him or her because it will mean something and will give them strength to keep at it.
4-Letters From War- Mark Schultz
If you have never heard this song, you need to download it right now. It will give you goose bumps, and will make you smile because it gives hope. This is a beautiful song about a soldier and the love of his mother to never give up, never stop believing that he is okay and never stop wishing that he would return home safely. We should all have that kind of mindset- instead of constantly worrying, we should spend more time praying, and writing to our loved ones who are away, because they may be getting our letters even if we don't hear anything back for a while.
5- If You're Reading This- Tim McGraw
While this is a sad song about war, it is also great to hear for those that have maybe lost loved ones in war. It talks about saying goodbye and letting those you love know that they meant everything to you, and it is okay to go on living even if you are gone. It tells of a soldier's amazing love, to fight for what he believes in even if he knows it could result in death, and his ability to still love those that are closest to him.
