If you are a big sports fan or just a movie buff don't leave these sports movies off of your watch list.

1. Million Dollar Baby (2004)
Clint Eastwood's Million Dollar Baby was an Oscar favorite garnering it 4 trophies and countless other accolades. It's a poignant story about a seasoned boxing trainer who helps a determined woman who wants to prove that she can be a boxer as well. Both Eastwood and Hilary Swank give stirring performances and you're pulled into their determination till the very last seconds of the movie. This movie made the list because it truly shows the spirit of competition through the rise of a heroine and her tragic downfall. You can purchase the two-disc wide screen edition on www.amazon.com for $9.49.

2. A League of their Own (1992)
A League of their Own may not be on many other top sports movie lists, but it's on this one because it's a great story that encompasses competitive spirit, sibling rivalry, and historical significance. This story tells the tale of the trials and tribulations of the first female professional baseball team. It also has a star studded cast including Tom Hanks, Rosie O'Donnel, Gina Davis, and Madonna. 3. Hoop Dreams (1994)
My boyfriend is a huge basketball fan and he was always telling me that I had to watch this documentary. Finally, I sat down and watched Hoop Dreams. I have to admit that this was a very stirring and moving story about two young kids growing up in inner-city Chicago. You really attach yourself to the two characters and strive for both of them to succeed. But, this movie really takes you on an emotional rollercoaster as we watch the two young boys grow up and attempt to follow their goals to become professional basketball players. Amazon.com lists this movie at $23.99.

4. Friday Night Lights (2004)
Being born and raised in Texas, I know how important football is to the citizen's of the Lone Star State. Friday Night Lights is a great example of the passion that towns like Odessa have for the game. It's also an example of the exceedingly high expectations that townspeople and families can have of these young players. You can buy Friday Night Lights at Best Buy for $9.99.

5. Bigger, Faster, Stronger (2008)
This is an eye-opening documentary about the use of anabolic steroids in today's sports industry spanning from baseball, wrestling, weightlifting, and even to the Olympic Games. Directed by Chris Bell, the documentary gives us insightful information about why we're obsessed with winning as a country and how athletes' steroid use is just an example of America's obsession with being on top. Amazon advertises Bigger, Faster, and Stronger at $18.49.
