Top 5 Summer Wedding Hairstyles for Short Hair

Jessica Mousseau
If you wear your hair short all the time, then you will probably want to keep it that way for your wedding. However, this is your special day, so you want to look special and do something different with your hair. If you want to keep it simple, that's fine, because one of this year's top five summer wedding hairstyles is a very simple one. Here are the top five bridal hairstyles for short hair.

1. Simple Bob
If you wear your hair in a bob (about chin-length and the same length all the way around), you may want to keep it just that way. With the bangs swept to the side (especially if they are long) the style is so classic, it will go well with however you will be securing your veil as well as with your dress, no matter how trendy or "old-fashioned" it is.

2. Fancy Bob
If you want to add a little more to your regular bob hairstyle, sweep your medium-long bangs (the length should be just below your earlobe) to the side, and add a little more height to the top of your hair. You can do this by using a hair accessory that is hidden in your hair and adds height, or you can simply have the stylist fix it so that there is more height on top. The added height will complement your veil attachment, especially if it sits right in front of where the height begins (where you would normally wear a hair band or tiara). The back and sides of your hair will be left straight, just as you normally do them.

3. Braids
Braids are very popular for summer wedding hairstyles, and you can still manage them even if you have short hair. It might require a little imagination, or even adding a braided hairpiece, but for your special day, it might be worth doing that. One very flattering hairstyle that includes a braid has the braid worn across the top of the head, much like a headband would be. The rest of the hair is styled is loose ringlets hanging down on either side of the braid and in the back. It is a very elegant look.

4. Voluminous Curls
Women with short hair with layers can pull off voluminous curls. Start with a side part and then slick back the hair in the front. The ends of the hair are curled starting at the tip of the hair and going about midway up your scalp. If you're not quite sure how far up you should extend the curls, take your hand and feel for the indentation at the very top of your spinal cord. That's where you want the curls to end. The remainder of the hair is left straight, but blown dry for more body and volume. The result is a beautiful, short-hair wedding hairstyle.

5.Tucked and Curled Under
Another good style for short, layered hair, especially if you are a mature bride, is to have your hair curled under on one side and the bangs tucked behind your ear on the other side. However, you want the other side left natural. It sounds rather unusual, but the result is actually very attractive and definitely trendy.
