1. Make Time to Meet New People: Keep the balance in your life and adjust your schedule to have open time to include a social life. If you keep your schedule filled 24/7, you will not have open time to meet new people or make social plans.
2. Keep to your Priorities and Limits: When you are out, always keep your priorities in check. It's easy to lose track of time and stay out longer that you agreed to, or to venture out farther than expected. This is especially the case when you are out with people without children. Be sure to establish your limits up front and communicate them clearly so you keep on track.
3. Find Reliable Childcare: You have invested a great deal of time and love into your family. Identify reliable and trusted resources to watch your child while you are out for the evening. While your child may always be in your thoughts, the last thing you want to do is worry about your child's well being when you are out.
4. Venture Out Into the World of Online Dating: Meeting people in bars may not be your ideal situation. Meeting your match online is one of the most popular ways to get back into the dating scene. Not only can you make connections from the privacy of your own home, but you can also capitalize on match screening steps "virtually." This saves time and money that you would normally spend on babysitting expenses.
5. Integrate your Children When it's Time: Think about the stage the relationship is in before introducing your children to your new partner. It may be confusing for the child to meet your partner too soon. It may also be overwhelming for your partner to be integrated into the family too early in the relationship.
