1- Blue Bayou
Cool off at any one of the 15 water-based rides at the Blue Bayou. Water Park. If your have time on your vacation agenda, purchase a combo package and visit the facility's sister park - Dixie Landin'. The water park boasts the "World's Largest" sled, in-line, racer and tornado slides. 2- Dixie Landin'
Buckle up and hold on for an exhilarating ride on the looping Ragin' Cajun roller coaster ride. Although there are scores of cafe and concession stands at the park, you may want to hold off on ordering that chili dog until after your turn on the 200 foot drop of the Hot Shot Tower Ride. Adventure seekers will also be delighted with the 26 and 50 foot drops on the Splinter log ride. Midway games, live entertainment along with 23 other family friendly rides dot the landscape at the Louisiana theme park.
3- Splash Kingdom Water Town
There is no reason to fear encountering an alligator in the in swimming area at Splash Kingdom Water Town. The Christian run water park features enclosed water slides, racer slides, spiral slides with steep drops, a wave pool and a lazy river ride. Two special play areas with interactive water features for young children also offer relaxing sun and shade decks for parent convenience. The Courtyard Grill offers both heart healthy and tasty friend food for your refreshment while spending the day at the water park. Party rental packages are also available.
4- Storyland and Carousel Gardens
If you are traveling with little ones in the New Orleans area, this is a "must do" on your getaway agenda. Slow down the pace a bit and enjoy an old-fashioned outdoor amusement experience. Take a spin on the antique carousel and conjure memories of your own youth as you snap photos of your children or grandchildren. Additional park attractions include a Ferris wheel, a miniature train, Coney Tower, bumper cars and nine other classic theme park rides. 5- Bayou Pierre Alligator Park
Step inside the dark and mysterious world of the alligator for an excursion you will never forget. While exploring the park you will be treated to live Cajun performed by local musicians. You may find yourself migrating to the dining area as the rich aroma of BBQ wafts in through the air. Make sure to check the park schedule so you do not miss an single one of the alligator shows. There are over 100 'gators on-site and waiting for you to feed and"pet" or pose for a keepsake photo. Wear comfortable walking shoes to traverse the wooden bridges and platforms to reach the viewing areas and arenas. The park is also home to a rare albino alligator. Walking across the suspension bridge which swings beneath your feet is not for the faint of heart. The suspended walkways leads to an indoor facility featuring further animal habitats and a waterfall.
