When a cell phone is bought today, it is likely that it is going to come with a camera phone. Even if you aren't planning on using the camera in the phone, it is likely that at some point, you will take a picture with it. You will want the picture to look good. Then, there are people who always take pictures with their camera phones and always want them to look good. Follow these tips in order to take good pictures with a camera phone.
Get Down on the Subject's Level
It may seem odd to be down at a dog's level, or kneeling at a table with food. However, sometimes, the best pictures are taken when the camera is at the level of the same subject. In order to get a perfect view of the subject in the screen, you also need to be at the subject's level. This requires that you get down at the subject's level.
Use a Plain Background
While some camera phones are great at picking up any designs, patterned backgrounds can be difficult for some. It is always difficult to see a subject on a patterned background. A plain background makes it easier to see a subject. Because of this, it is always better to have a plain background whenever possible.
Move in Close
Some phones have a zoom feature. If it works well, it is perfectly fine to use this feature if it works. However, sometimes a zoom on a camera phone only results in a fuzzy picture. Instead of using the zoom, move closer to the subject. This way it is not too difficult to capture. It is also less likely that there will be distractions while taking the photo. Once you are as close as you can get to the subject so that the camera phone can capture it, use the zoom if it is still needed. However, do not use the zoom so much that the subject becomes blurry.
Change the Orientation of the Phone
Common sense says that a picture should be taken so the top of the subject is at the top of the picture and that should be at the top of the phone. However, this is not always the best solution for capturing the subject. A phone may take a picture better when it is turned in different direction. The photo can always be manipulated once it is on a computer. Do not be concerned about the orientation of the photo when taking it. Instead, be concerned about capturing the subject whichever way the phone needs to be held.
Move the Subject from the Middle
We are often taught that the middle of a picture is the focus of a photo. However, that is not always the case. The focus of the photo can be on the side, too. The trick is to balance the photo. Yet, even if balance doesn't work, moving the phone so the subject is not in the middle can help to capture the subject. It can then be edited once is is on a computer.
