Roll On 18 Wheeler- Alabama
This song is about a loving dad, and father that is a truck driver, and how they miss him while he is out on the road and to keep rolling on until he gets home from the road. It covers the fear that a wife has when they hear that something has happened to a truck driver and the worries that it is their own husband. Roll on 18 wheeler, roll on.
Papa Loved Mama- Garth Brooks
This song is about a father who was out on the road and a wife that had a straying eye and how sometimes women that are married to truckers tend to find other men because they are not wanting to be alone. This is all about how he came home to see his wife, but she was gone with another man. Needless to say mama is the graveyard and papas in the pen.
East Bound And Down- Jerry Reed
If you were ever a fan of Smokie and the Bandit, which if you are a trucker most likely you have seen it. This is their theme song and no one can deny this one of the best songs for a trucker, to get them up and going. Watch out for those smokies and put the hammer down.
Convoy- CW Mcall
This is a definitely a classic when it comes to truckers song. If you are not sure what a convoy is it is a train of truckers or semis wall to wall down the road. This is something that you can only understand if you are used to CB talk, but if you know what a smokies or bears are or what a chicken coop is then you might have an idea. A true trucker knows what these means. If you ever what Larry the Cable guy was talking about when he spoke of his sister's wedding and playing convoy, you have to listen to this song. Let them truckers roll!
Truckers Prayer- Box Car Willie
This song is about a trucker who is talking to God to answer his prayers. He talks about all his time driving on the road and his hate for Greyhound buses. So with any hope God will grant his wish before he turns to dust.
These are the best of the trucker's songs, so if you are a trucker and you are wondering what to listen to while out on the road, these are some of the songs that will help you pass the time. Truckers deserve the credit when it comes to helping run our country because if there were no truckers we would not have anything.

Post a CommentI was going to mention "Willin'', but i see John already has. Best truck driving song ever. Probably because it was written by a rock artist and not some crappy country person.
Sorry, I have to say Little Feats "willin" is the best truck driving song ever made.
Great list. I would have to add the song DT from AC/DC though:)
