As Valentine's Day is the perfect day to show your significant other just how much they mean to you one way to show them you really care is to take them on a special date. While there are some great traditional places you could take your date to, to show them you really care consider one of these top 5 Valentine's Day date ideas for your special day.

1. Instead of having to face the crowds of people that will be at the restaurants on this busy day, plan a picnic instead. If you want to have it during the day time you can pick somewhere outdoors if the weather permits. Look for a romantic spot that you know he/she will enjoy. If they have a special restaurant they like you can always order take out and bring it. For an extra touch bring some flowers or a gift you know he/she will like.

2. Movie theaters are another place that are very busy on Valentine's Day. Instead of your local theater check and see if you have any Drive Ins near you. The Drive In is a great way to still see a movie but with more privacy and seclusion. Pack some of your favorite snacks and cuddle your way through the movie.

3. If you can make plans ahead of time look for concerts that will be happening in your area. If you find one you think he or she will enjoy then buy the tickets ahead of time and surprise him or her with them.

4. You can turn your dining room area or living room into a romantic restaurant easily. Let your date know you have a special surprise for them but do not give any more details. Take time before the date to set up a romantic table setting with candles and their favorite dishes. For an extra touch you can buy them a nice card, bouquet of flowers or box of chocolates.

5. In many states during Valentine's Day there are fairs and festivals taking place. Look and see if there are any going on near you and make plans to take your date there for Valentine's Day! You can enjoy the fair food and even if you do not like the fast rides you can still take part of the fun ones like the bumper cars or end the night on a romantic note by taking a ride on the ferris wheel.
