Top 5 Valentine's Day Gifts for Grandpa

Tonya Hillukka
It can be difficult to find a meaningful Valentine's Day gift for grandparents, especially when they have a whole collection of "special" things from their grandchildren already. Often, they don't care what their grandchildren give them--it is the thought that counts, after all. An original painting from a grandchild is more meaningful to them than anything you might buy. So what are some thoughtful Valentine's Day gift ideas for Grandpa?

Valentine's Day Gifts for Grandpa: Personalized photo frame

Which grandpa does not enjoy looking at a framed photo of him with his grandchildren? If you are not able to find a frame you like that says "Grandpa" or something similar, make your own. Buy (or make, if you're really crafty) a wooden photo frame and paint or decorate it with craft supplies.

Valentine's Day Gifts for Grandpa: Photo keychain (photos included)

Grandparents like to show off their little bundles of joy. Give grandpa a photo keychain this year--with a picture of his granddaughter or grandson inside. Of course, this gift only works if Grandpa only has one or two grandchildren.

Valentine's Day Gifts for Grandpa: Care goodie package

Most grandpas love sweets, right? So put together a care package full of homemade goodies. However, some grandparents are diabetic, so they cannot eat much sugar. In this case, look for healthy treat recipes to keep Grandpa's blood sugar in check.

Valentine's Day Gifts for Grandpa: Audio greeting card

I'm sure Grandpa would love to spend every day with his little angels but, unfortunately, sometimes they live too far away to see their grandchildren often enough. This is where audio greeting cards and recorded messages come in handy. This way, he can listen to their sweet voices anytime he wants to.

Valentine's Day Gifts for Grandpa: Handmade card

Have the kids make their own Valentine's Day cards for their grandparents. Give them some construction paper, scissors, and a little glue--then let them go to town. What can be more special than something that comes from the grandkids' hearts?

You don't have to spend a lot of money on Valentine's Day gifts for your children's grandparents to let them know how special they are. Besides, what can you get for a Grandpa who already has a growing collection of trinkets from the grandchildren? Put a little thought into it, but let the kids help out. After all, they are giving the gifts--not you.
