Easy DIY Halloween Costumes for Toddlers

Halloween is drawing near and you don't have any idea what you are going to do as a Halloween costume for your toddler. Instead of spending lots of money for a Halloween costume from the stores here are some ideas on how to make cheap toddler costumes yourself with items you may already have. I also list websites where you can find detailed plans on other Halloween costumes for toddlers to get your creative juices flowing.

Superman Halloween Costume: This toddler Halloween costume is easier to make than you think. Try and find a blue long sleeved shirt and pant outfit that matches. If you are not able to find this pant outfit, buy a plain blue shirt and matching sweatpants in the vibrant blue seen in the movies or a color close to it.

Supplies: One long sheet of yellow foam board, one long sheet of red foam board, 1/2 yard of red fabric for the cape, 1/4 yard of yellow fabric, and red rain boots.

You will search online for the Superman logo. Enlarge the document on your printer and print it make sure it is the size you want. Using the tracing paper trace the superman logo, first the background part (triangle) and then the letter S. Cut them out of the tracing paper separately and using a craft knife cut them out of the foam board. You will glue the S on top of the triangular shape and glue to the long sleeved shirt using fabric glue.

Using a measuring tape measure your toddler's waist and cut a long strip accordingly out of the yellow fabric for the belt.
Next step is to measure from the back of your child's neck to where you want the cape to end. Cut a rectangle the length you came up with in your measurements out of the red fabric. You can stitch the edges with your sewing machine.

Now put all the costume parts together, and you have your very own superman Halloween costume for your toddler.

Piglet Halloween Costume: This toddler Halloween costume ideas is super easy to make. You just need to find a pink sleeper set in the lightest pink you can find. Also look for a matching lightweight light pink winter hat.

Supplies: Pink foam sheet and black fabric marker

On the hat draw in eyes with the black fabric marker, cut out two ears from the pink foam board and attach to side of hat with safety pins. You can then cut out a circle for the snout and glue to the brim of the winter hat. This Halloween costume would be great for any toddler who hasn't begun to walk yet.

Baseball Halloween Costume: This idea for a toddler Halloween costume is useful because even after Halloween it can be worn any time. You need just to find a toddler say Yankees tshirt and Yankees baseball cap. You can buy blue sweatpants to match the tshirt. They have baseball dog toys at the dollar stores that are big enough and safe for toddlers to play with you can use as a prop.

Littlest Witch Costume: Your toddler can dress all in black in either pants or a dress. You can buy a toddler witches hat from Walmart ,while you are there find a small broom play toy for toddlers. You can buy black lipstick for an added touch. So cute and easy Halloween costume for you to make for your toddler.

Littlest Nerd Costume: You will only need a mismatched outfit, a pair of sunglasses, masking tape and hair gel.
You will slick their hair back with the gel. You take the masking tape and place around the nose piece of the sunglasses. What a laugh you will get from family and friends that you dressed your toddler as a nerd. A cute and cheap Halloween costume for toddlers.
