In Christian times, St. Valentine became the patron saint of lovers. The first Valentine's Day cards were mass-produced in the 1840s. Now, Valentine's Day is not just for lovers, but a time to express your love to anyone young and old. True love might happen more than once in your life, as 12-13% of men and women aged 15 and older get married twice. 3% have married three or more times. At least the good news is 58% of women have only been married once and the same is true for 54% of men.
I decided to survey around 150 teenagers in Salt Lake City, Utah to answer the question: What is true love? Despite the fact that they are young and most have not experienced true love, they seem to have a pretty good handle on the question what is true love from family values, movies, and songs. Here is the list of top 50 answers from teenagers to the question: what is true love?

When you can tell them anything , be yourself, express yourself, love them even when they are in a bad mood or being rude.. a simple fight or big one wont brake you up just bring you closer. When he's the only one you love , wana be with and see in your eyes..theres no such thing as perfect love or perfect relationship there are always bumps in the road but in the end your by each others side.

i am a teen and to me true love is really hard to explain everyone feels love in different ways thats why we're all different the love just gives you two a wonderful connection and you dont wanna stop being with them till the day you die

so for every1 that reads mine dont be scared to love. just remember God will lead you to the one but NEVER let a guy or a girl treat you wrong dont take it from them no matter how much you love them i guarantee you tht you will find someone that will treat you like an angel. i have experienced love twice the first one the guy tht i loved didnt love me but now my heart is more beautiful than ever because i have a scar and the most beautiful heart is the one with rips scars and slashes and right now i am experiencing love this guy treats me great im happily in love :) take my word trust me itl help
true love is a strong feeling for another person. a feeling as more than a friend and you care about them and worry when they dont answer your calls or texts. its when God puts a guy or girl into your heart and leads you to being with them. its when sum1 not only touches your heart but also takes it. and when they take it and they truly love you they will keep it in the safest place ever, their love for you. its when you want to spend everyday with them. but this is all my true love. to know yours you have to experience it.
ture love is when u find someone who can except u for your flaws, tell u the truth and everytime u kiss them no matter how long u have been with then your heart races and u feel a fluttering in your stomach. to be able to stand up to them when their in the wrong and tell them their doing great when there doin right. its not being just mental to them and trying to understand their point of veiew in things. true love has no real definition, it is what u think it is. and thats what rue love is to me.
even i, being a teenager, find this a misrepresentation of the teenage mind's capability. Seriously? You cannot define a word using the word. I learned that in like 3rd grade. Some of these are very profound. True love to me is seeing someone every day, and thinking "what can i do to better his/her life? what can i do to deepen our connection? So i guess i'm saying that true love is the state of being selfless and other-centered. Unconditionally.
