Top 50 Texas Songs for Your Texas Longhorns MP3 Playlist Hook Em Horns

No Texas Longhorn Tailgate Party Would Be Complete Without Music Videos of the Hilarious Geezinslaws to Keep Your Players in Stitches

Aly Adair
I am a Texas gal inside and out after growing up in El Paso and living in Austin for 25 years. There is nothing like Texas BBQ, Texas music, and Texas Hold 'Em. No matter where you live, if you like a good poker game during your college football tailgate party or any time, you might as well play the number one poker game of choice: Texas Hold 'Em. If you really want to make your Texas Hold 'Em Party real, you need good Texas food and good Texas music. Here is some help with that.

An all-in Texas Hold 'Em Poker Party is not complete without good Texas food, Texas drinks, and Texas decorations, so if you need some ideas for those, visit Poker Party Food Ideas: Finger Foods, Snacks, Entrees, Desserts, Drinks, Decorations. Then there is the Texas music. There are literally hundreds of songs written about Texas and dozens of legendary musicians born in Texas that could fill your MP3 playlist for your Texas Longhorns Tailgate Party.

If you want some local Austin music flavor at your Texas Longhorn Party, here are some of my favorite local Austin musicians to download on your MP3 poker party playlist: Louann Barton, Los Lonely Boys, Toni Price, Marcia Ball, Monte Montgomery, Van Wilks, Joe Ely, Omar and the Howlers, Austin Lounge Lizards, Geezinslaws, Asleep At The Wheel, Junior Brown, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Jimmie Vaughan, Gary P. Nunn, and of course, Willie. Some more Austin favorite musicians are included in the Top 50 Texas Songs list below.

If you have never heard Austin's own Sam Allred and the Geezinslaws, you must watch some of the YouTube videos of their World Tour and Broken Spoke performances. Your Texas Longhorn Tailgate Party guests will be in stitches and you can take all their chips! My favorite Geezinslaws song is My Way (yes the Frank Sinatra song) that is on The Eclectic Horsemen CD. You will cry from laughter. The Eclectic Horsemen also includes Coppenhagen and Stairway to Heaven (yes a new version of the Led Zeppelin classic), along with guest musicians like Willie Nelson, Kinky Friedman, and more. Check out these Geezinslaws YouTube Videos:
