1- Sarasota Folk Festival

The annual event takes place the final week of March at Oscar Scherer State Park in the town of Osprey. More than 30 of Florida's best acoustic musicians andfolk performers entertain the crowds and host music workshops. You can browse vendor booths for music related items, crafts and have a lunch picnic. Tickets are sold at the gate of the two-day festival.

2- Giving Hunger The Blues Fest

The single day charity event takes place the last weekend in March near the Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Two outdoor stages are alive with music all afternoon with martial arts and dance performances occurring nearby. Themed activities for children, food and games of chance are also a part of the annual event to garner funds to aid the hungry in Sarasota County.

3- Lido Key Art at the Beach Show

Infuse some art into your daily walk at the beach during the annual Lido Key Art at the Beach Show. The free event typically takes place the second week of March and includes works by local and regional artists.

4- Joy of Jazz

The annual free concert occurs the second week of March at Centennial Park in historic downtown Venice. Food and drinks are sold during the concert, but you will need to bring your own blanket or comfortable chair. Local and regional musicians entertain the crowd during afternoon hours.

5- Taste of Anna Maria Island Fine Arts and Crafts Show

Journey out to Anna Maria Island to dine on local cuisine and a gallery of works created by area crafters. You can browse all of the booths and even purchase a one-of-a-kind souvenir or attend a workshop. The annual event takes place the last weekend in March.

6- Annual Pug Parade

St. Armand's Circle fills with furry visitors for the annual Humane Society of Sarasota County parade. Pugs and sometimes their owners, dress up in outrageous costumes are parade through the downtown area to the delight of the crowd. The event typically takes place the third week of March.
