Top 7 Games to Play on Facebook

Tim Searles
What is Facebook without its games? Twitter. This was where you were supposed to laugh. Anyway, part of what makes Facebook a great application are the games you can play on it. I personally think the seven games I'm about to tell you about are the best of the crop as far as Facebook games go.

Mafia Wars

Probably one of the most successful games there is on Facebook is called Mafia Wars. The great thing about this game is that in order to reach certain milestones or levels you'll need the help of other people in the game. It's a good game if you want to learn how to work with other people for a good cause.

Bejeweled Blitz

One of the most ADDICTIVE games on Facebook is called Bejeweled Blitz. It's so addictive I've written two articles about it already. One entitled, "Why Play Bejeweled Blitz?," the other entitled, "Game Review: Bejeweled Blitz Beta on Facebook". The premise of the game - one minute, get as many connections as you can. That's all you have to work with... sixty seconds... but so much can happen within that sixty seconds. Can you really just play one game of this?

Uno

The time-honored tradition of Uno has come to Facebook. Skip, reverse, or draw-4 your way to winning a tournament. If you're not familiar with this game, colors and numbers are everything. Don't be afraid to pull out one of the power cards on your friends; it may be the difference between winning, losing, or just more cards in your hand.

Word Challenge

Word Challenge is not as intellectual of a game as it sounds. It will challenge your ability to create words just based off of the letters provided to you. Your job is to rearrange the latters to come up with as many 3-letter, 4-letter, 5-letter, and 6-letter words as possible. One thing to notice, all the words are in alphabetical order. If you're trying to figure out the word between two already existing words, remember to check alphabetically.

Bowling Buddies

I used to play this game religiously. Not so much anymore since I've started playing Bejeweled Blitz though. The one thing about bowling is that once you reach 300, there's nowhere else to go, really... except getting to 300 multiple times consecutively. There is a method to how bowling works in a general sense. For the purposes of the game, I recommend giving it a few times and challenge your friends as you go along. There is a point-based system outside of the game to which you can change your avatar's outfit, bowling ball, and other styles.

Poker Palace

Poker Palace gives you a starting amount of money to work with and then you'd better ante up! It's somewhat hard to play given that it's real money, but for those of us who are glad it's not real money I can play this game quite often.

Be a Tycoon

Do you want to build an empire on Facebook? Then learn how to play this game. Skyscrapers, Private Zoos, Islands, all of this and more are available to you as you learn how to become a tycoon. It's a little like Monopoly in a way, without all the paper bills and playing pieces.

I found Bejeweled Blitz to be to frustrating. When that train whistle blew I could not find a match at all, being so upset that time was running out. I have played it on my computer and do much better ~ no train warnings and the timed games seem to have more time than the FB version.
