Post a CommentNot that it is important in the grand scheme of things, but please do more research to see the correct list of intelligent (I like to say "easy to train") doggies. I advise anyone to do his/her homework before taking on a Border Collie.....or any other intelligent, working breed! Many want a smart dog, adopt one, then find they are destructive, being cooped up in the house 9-5, so to the pound the dog goes, and it was a very good dog indeed, just the wrong home environment. Count on hours per day of exercising, agility or herding to be bequeathed to a Border Collie, they also excel at police work, rescue and more.
This list is not correct. How could you possibly miss what is by common consent the #1 srmartest breed of all? The Border Collie is far and away the most intelligent, intuitive, even brilliant, dog of all...bar none. I have met a few and to see them work leaves me speechless....I am humbled by the so obvious intellect and intuition they display...both their minds and bodies move oh, so fast.Just look into a Border Collie's eyes - their sharp gaze defies description. The #2 breed is the poodle - looks are deceiving!...and the German Shepard, very smart indeed, is #3. #4 is the Golden Retreiver, #5 is the Doberman, #6 is the Sheltie, #7 is the Labrador, then the Rottweiler, Papillon and the Australian Cattle Dog. I will say that Schnauzers are pretty smart too - had one in the family...and Wagner certainly had his own little mind, lol. But remember - smart does not mean that is the best doggie for you...Border Collies are very special, but they are not generally house dogs, they ar
My parents always had German Shepherds and they were smarter than some people!
Not sure about the others, but I know my German shepherd was an amzingly intelligent breed.
great list
I've always heard labs were smart.
Very accurate!
