The holidays are coming up quick, and many are preparing for some great dinner parties, or family get-togethers. You'll want to make sure you have the best food, and the best paired beverages. Wine's are the best way to go (for adult crowd) with any holiday dinner. There are thousands of different types of wines, so it can be a difficult decision to make when it comes to what wine is going to go best with your holiday dinner.

You'll want to gear yourself towards the winter wines, and then pick the top rated ones from there. Here is a guide to help you choose the best winter wines for your holiday dinners:

1. 2005 Brown Hill Fimiston Shiraz - ($25.00) - This red wine comes from the Margaret River's Southern regions of Australia. This wine has a very robust taste and a hint of vanilla. The grapes also create a flavor of black pepper and leather from the cherry and plum fruits. The aroma gives off a strong scent of leather and dark grapes. This wine is a perfect pair for a lamb or red meat entrée.

2. 2004 Houghton Jack Mann Cabernet Sauvignon - ($90.00) - This red wine is a highly spoken about and rated wine. This wine gives off an intense taste of black-cherry and dark-plum flavors. The aroma is from complicated and earthy. This wine is perfect to go with any appetizer or salad.

This wine is known for its clean and deep taste which flows into amazing flavors and textures. The wine is semi smooth and semi textured which makes it a slower wine to sip on. This wine would also be the perfect companion for a dessert.

6. 2005 Angove's Stonegate Petit Verdot - ($8.95) - This red wine is so light, that it almost resembles a type of fruity punch. The flavors are filled with blackberries, and earthy aromas. The wine really fills your entire mouth with joy during each sip. A great pair for this wine is anytime type of pasta with a red sauce.

7. 2004 Grant Burge Barossa Vines Shiraz - ($14.75) - This red velvety wine has amazing oak aromas and vibrant tastes of blackberry. Grant Burge would be a great pair for any dark meat.
