The Best Christmas Themed Decorations and Favors for Your Christmas Party

JBC
Christmas is right around the corner, and what better reason to throw a party. When planning and decorating, take these ideas into consideration.

1. Christmas Themed Beer (or spirits)

If it is this kind of party, the liquor should fit the theme. Sam Adams annually brews its "Winter Ale," and the bottle is reminiscent of ice and frost, with the trademark "Sam Adams" character still where he always is. A brewery called Rogue also makes a beer called "Santa's private reserve," the bottle has a picture of Santa with a frosty mug of his own! These should be available at most liquor stores, but your odds will be better to find the Rogue at a store that carries a broad selection of beers.

2. Santa Hats

Speaking of Santa, who remembers a Christmas season without one person in a Santa hat? I certainly don't, so buy a few Santa hats and scatter them around your party. You can even wear one yourself, and greet guests. These can be found at CVS, or any holiday-themed store. There are many variations (some with gold and silver sparkles) but if it isn't red and white, it's not a Santa hat.

3. Candy Canes

Candy canes are a tasty holiday treat, but they can also double as a party decoration. Hang some on the railings, off the mantle, or simply put one at each spot on the dinner table. There are many different variations of these, and many different flavors. Find the style you want at CVS, or any candy store that embraces Christmas.

4. Stockings

Stockings are an integral part of Christmas morning for many children, but as adults, they can instill holiday spirit as decorations. Write (or stitch) your guest's names on them, if you're feeling artsy. They can be found, again, at CVS, or any store with a highly seasonal focus. You can also go the old fashioned way and stuff real stockings from a clothing store.

5. Tinsel

Tinsel goes on the tree, but it is versatile enough to be strung anywhere. It can be found at any store that sells fake Christmas trees, as well as CVS. There is the white (or colored) garland kind, and also the really thin, sparkling, plastic kind.

6. Mistletoe

Mistletoe inspires kisses, and what better fun is there to have at a party? I'm kidding, but many lovebirds would love to suddenly find themselves under the mistletoe, so help them to indulge. Mistletoe can be found where plants are sold, and fake mistletoe can be found where you'd find any other decorations.

7. Presents

Presents epitomize the material side of Christmas, and what better way to embrace that by adding presents to your theme. You can gift-wrap doors, tables, or, anything really, get creative! You can get a gift box pretty much anywhere during the Christmas season, and ribbon is available at party or holiday themed stores.

8. Christmas Lights

Christmas lights provide the perfect finishing touch, as there are many different variations and colors. Go big or small, white or flashing colors. Get whatever suits your party, it's up to you. Lights are available at CVS as well, and at Christmas themed stores.

There you have it, 8 Christmas party decorations. Happy decorating!
