Top 8 Sexiest Women of Sci-Fi and Fantasy Entertainment

Jeffrey Weeks
Sci-fi and fantasy entertainment is usually awash with the industry's hottest and sexiest women, and today is no exception. The current crop of sci-fi and fantasy entertainment boasts some ultra-talented actresses who are also among the true hotties in genre acting.

Here's my list of the current Top 8 sexiest women in sci-fi and fantasy TV.

8. Tabrett Bethell in "Legend of the Seeker"

The hottest dominatrix in sci-fi Tabrett Bethell played Cara the Mord-Sith on the syndicated (and unfairly canceled) "Legend of the Seeker." An Australian beauty she has been a cheerleader, model and actress and it's her self-confident sexy appeal as much as her smoldering blonde good looks that stood out for Tabrett. Since the series is gone, check her out on the Legend of the Seeker Season 2 DVDs.

7. Jasika Nicole in "Fringe"

You can't watch "Fringe" and not fall for the enchanting and uber-cute Astrid Farnsworth as portrayed by Jasika Nicole. I've been reviewing this show ever since the first episode and it seems that in every review I call for more screen time for Astrid. Throughout the three season of "Fringe" her role has steadily increased, although we are still waiting for that definitive Astrid episode.

6. Erica Durance in "Smallville"

For the last few season of "Smallville" Durance has simply owned the part of Lois Lane. Her combination of good looks and in-your-face confidence has defined her as the Lois Lane for this generation. Sexy as all get out she's also got the chops to hold down one of the most iconic parts in super hero history and not get out-shined by all the costumed studs around her.

5. Zoe Saldana in "Star Trek" and "Avatar"

Zoe rocked as a smoldering Uhura in "Star Trek" brining a renewed sexiness to the role. She then went on to capture our hearts as Neytiri in the biggest film of last year "Avatar." Whether alien or human her sleek good looks and penetrating eyes can melt sci-fi fans with a single glance.

4. Anna Paquin in "True Blood"

You've gotta love the southern sexy Sookie Stackhouse and Anna Paquin is perfect for the role, with just the right mix of girl-next-door innocence and seething sexuality. Forget "Twilight" or "The Vampire Diaries"-- Sookie Stackhouse remains the most bite-able hottie in the world of the undead.

3. Allison Mack in "Smallville"

Although no longer a series regular in the final season, Mack's long-running portrayal of Chloe Sullivan has been the most splendid addition "Smallville" has brought to the iconic Superman universe. Feisty, brainy, head-strong and curiously vulnerable Allison Mack has made Chloe Sullivan an unforgettable super hero entity and a super-hot heroine.

2. Emma Watson in "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows, Part One"

Wow, we've come a long way with Hermione Granger haven't we? Even more than Allison Mack with Chloe Sullivan, Emma Watson has created an unforgettable female fantasy character as the super sharp mega-powerful and yet always vulnerable good witch of the Harry Potter world. In her the latest outing in "Deathly Hollows" Watson simply stole the movie from the male wizards with her tragic yet enchanting portrayal of a young and restless witch in pain. No wonder Harry and Ron were fighting over her. The depth and pathos Watson brings to Hermione only enhance her beauty and enchantress-like charms.

1. Anna Torv in "Fringe"

The undisputed queen of sci-fi and fantasy entertainment Torv is the heart and soul of "Fringe" as FBI Agent Olivia Dunham. Sexy and intriguing as hell before the current season, Torv has only capitalized on the opportunity to play duel doppelganger twins of Olivia in the "Fringe" alternative universe plot.

So there are my picks for the Top 8 sexiest women in sci-fi and fantasy entertainment. How does your own list match up?
