Top Action Movie Trailers on YouTube

Movie makers get theatre seats filled by putting out great trailers that entice the movie going audience. The difference between a good trailer and a bad one can mean millions of dollars gained or lost in a few short weeks. The difference between a great and really great movie trailer is that you are quite happy watching that trailer over and over before and after you see the movie. Great movie trailers from action movies tend to put almost every great scene into a few short sections or a few long minutes of screen time. Here are the top action movie trailers that can be found on YouTube.

Top Action Movie Trailers On YouTube #1 - The Movie 300

The title of a movie called 300 is not something that would make a person pay attention. That is the biggest reason that the trailer makes such an impact. With a name like 300, you do not honestly know what to expect from this movie or even what it is about. If you love action movies, one glance at this trailer will get you hooked. The short trailers that ran on TV was enough to get people to rush to movie theatres but this YouTube trailer is over four minutes long and features some of the best scenes in the movie. However, 300 is unlike most movies in that all scenes were great and not just the ones shown in a short trailer.

Top Action Movie Trailers On YouTube #2 - Transformers The Movie

Like millions of children, teens and adults I also watched transformers the cartoon version growing up as a child. I did not however, realize that I was quietly waiting for a movie until I heard that one was being made. Once that announcement showed up online excitement still did not come right away. You first had to wonder, would they completely ruin the movie with bad special effects like Hulk: The Movie or would it be greater than we imagined such as the success of Spiderman?

These thoughts stayed with me for years and months until the official trailer because Steven Spielberg and everyone else involved with Transformers seemed to be able to do the impossible in today's computerized world. They kept things hidden and under wraps. The first trailer continued to tease us when none of the transformers were shown. We were told the story of what the movie would be about roughly, but we did not get to see how the robots in the movie would look like. The wait was rewarded when the next trailer was finally released. If the trailer is anything to go by, the Transformers movie will be a great success.

Top Action Movie Trailers On YouTube #3 - Superman The Movie (1978)

Superman Returns was an ok movie but nothing could beat the original. It will soon be 30 years since it was first released in 1978 and although movies have come much farther with technology, this movie will always be a classic and Christopher Reeves (RIP) will forever be our Superman.

Top Action Movie Trailers On YouTube #4 - Resident Evil 3 : Extinction Trailer

Resident Evil 3 is the perfect example of a great trailer. It has action, suspense and most of all it leaves viewers with more questions than answers. The opening scenes are of a beautiful bikini clad woman talking about a having a great time. Seconds later we a world completely different from what we know when we notice that the Statue of Liberty is surrounded by sand instead of water.

Top Action Movie Trailers On YouTube #5 - Casino Royale (James Bond, 007) Movie Trailer

Its hard to figure out what James Bond movie lost us but for at least a decade the 007 genre was getting stale as the movies paid more attention to cool gadgets that Bond played with than an actual storyline. That all changed when a new blonde Bond was selected by the name of Daniel Craig. The movie Casino Royale took us in a different direction as it showed a new 007 who was beginning his career as a new secret agent and what he has to sacrifice to get the job done.
